Marvel Legends Invisible Woman Figure 2017 Packaged Photo!

Today must just be the day for new exclusive Marvel Legends figures leaking out, because hot on the heels of the Toys R Us exclusive Groot Evolution Pack being spotted for the first time, the brand new Hasbro 6″ Marvel Legends Invisible Woman figure (and HERBIE) have appeared online as well! And I have to say, I don’t think it’s hyperbole declaring that this is the best Invisible Woman action figure ever…

Fantastic Four merchandise has been an endangered species for the past few years because of FOX’s ownership of the Fantastic Four movie rights, but take heart, F4 fans: it looks like the long drought of toys for Marvel’s first family has come to an end!

After being teased at San Diego Comic-Con 2016 on the form of an unpainted prototype, we went months without hearing another peep about the new Susan Storm. But the wait for her reveal is now over, as she’s now appeared in an eBay auction online!

The new 6″ Invisible Woman looks to come with both a solid left hand and a partially-invisible interchangeable left hand, as well as H.E.R.B.I.E.Β  the robot and a flight stand for HERBIE. Strangely, Sue doesn’t seem to come with a totally solid/visible right hand. Hunh. That’s odd.

marvel-legends-invisible-woman-figure-walmart-exclusiveFor whatever reason I can’t seem to find the actual eBay auction that corresponds to this screenshot, but this is clearly the real deal and not some custom. The spot-on H.E.R.B.I.E. that matches up with the the SDCC teaser is proof of that.

And man, that head sculpt on Susan–I don’t think there’s going to be much debate after this figure becomes widely available as to what the best-looking figure of Invisible Woman ever is. Tremendous job here by Hasbro!

marvel-legends-herbie-robot-figureI know a lot of fans are hoping for an entire Fantastic Four Marvel Legends wave this year, but as all the new figures seen today have been one-off exclusive releases, I suspect that that just is not in the cards right now. We’ll have to wait for when Hasbro makes an official announcement to know for sure, though, which will theoretically be very soon since this figure has already been produced and packaged.

That said, it’s not impossible that Hasbro does have a Fantastic Four box set of some kind in the works (perhaps as a Marvel Legends SDCC 2017 Exclusive?), with that box set containing a fully invisible Susan Storm figure and the visible version only being available as this single-packed exclusive. (In fact, I would almost bet on that being the case, but we’ll have to wait and see.)

marvel-legends-2017-invisible-woman-figure-with-herbieAt this time, there’s no confirmation of the exclusivity or release window for the Marvel Legends Fantastic Four Invisible Woman figure, but I’ll update here and to the Marvel Toy News Facebook Page and Twitter Page once those details are available (which will hopefully be quite soon).

Based off of our first look at it, what do you think of the new 2017 Marvel Legends Invisible Woman figure, Marvel collectors? Is this the best Sue Storm figure ever? Are you hoping for more 6″ Fantastic Four Legends figures, or are you satisfied with just Invisible Woman?

  1. It definitely looks like the best Legends Sue to date, which is an admittedly low bar since female characters were one of Toy Biz’s few Achilles heels imo. So far I think almost all of the recent Hasbro redos of female characters Toy Biz did before have been better than the originals.

    • THANK YOU!!!πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘πŸ˜¬I’VE BEEN SAYING THAT EXACT THING FOR YEARS! Captain, your a genius, boss. Hasbro has female forms that surpasses any TML Marionette Ms.Marvel, Elektra, Scary Witch, fugly Spiderwoman, Back Cat, and so forth weak figures they had made.
      😎Shalom

  2. I’d LOVE a Johnny Storm on the Pizza Spidey body. Perhaps we’ll get a Ben Grimm in the second GOTG wave later this year?

    • A GOTG Ben Grimm Thing figure? Now there’s an interesting idea! I wonder who could share the tooling, though…

      • Honestly, it would probably be another (HEAVILY) modified Rhino BAF.
Either that or the Juggernaut BAF.

Thing and Juggernaut are about the same size (depending on the art), but Juggernaut is sometimes drawn insanely huge on a level that Thing isn’t.

Rhino is more the traditional, less insane, size of Thing and Juggernaut.

But I’d be okay with a Juggernaut sized Thing.
I’ve contemplated using Marvel Select Thing. The Select size is fine by me. (It’s just that the articulation sucks.)
And I think the Juggernaut BAF and Select Thing are roughly the same size.

        *shrug*

I’m not super pleased about the idea of using the Rhino sculpt for anything, but that might be the most logical pre-existing starting place.

    • Black Panther has his own packaging too, but he’s a store exclusive without a wave.

      • Yea, super easy to just swap some colors and slap on a Fantastic Four logo.
Not really indicative of a Fantastic Four wave, unfortunately.

Hell, individual figures in a wave (Iron Fist, Kid Nova, etc) have their own logos, and every figure has its own side and back art.
The art/colors/logos of the Marvel Legends packaging is completely modular and customized to each figure anyway, so this wasn’t any more work than usual.

        πŸ™

  3. I would be absolutely infuriated if the First Family was relegated to an SDCC exclusive.

    • There is a rumor that the rest of the FF will be released one by one as walgreens exclusives, my guess is if they did have an SDCC box set, it would be a variant of them in future foundation or classic blue and white, and then get a blue and black regular release eventually

        • Well, this may or may not be indicator, but do you think that the Namor figure was a way to sort of test of the waters for potentially releasing all of the Fantastic Four at Walgreens like Benjamin said.

    • Yes ! I’ve waited far too long for updated F4 figures, and if I have to camp out in front of my computer for days, or shell out a lot of cash to a scalper, to obtain them, I will be very disappointed πŸ™

  4. Does this mean that a Future Foundation Spidey could be made? That is my absolute favorite suit, and the possibility of that figure now existing either in Spidey’s wave or this potential one is exciting!

    • I think FF Spidey is an inevitability.
They put out like 3 Spider-Man waves per year, and they’re always LOADED with Spider-Man variants (especially after Spiderverse).
They’re going to burn through costumes at a ridiculous rate and end up looping back around to doing stuff like Future Foundation and Big Time at some point.
Every Spider-Man variant they can justify cramming onto the Pizza-Eating Spider-Man body is probably going to happen at some point.

I’m actually SHOCKED that the new Spider-Man 2099 is on a new body, instead of the Pizza body like classic Spidey 2099. Weird move.
(Spider-UK is Brian Braddock[Captain Britain], so it makes sense that he’d be on a body mold MUCH bigger than Peter Parker, since Brian Braddock is MASSIVE.)

      • That’s not going to stop them.
Hasbro is already remaking LOADS of characters and costumes that they’ve already done.
Punisher, Phoenix, Rogue(unreleased), Wolverine, Symbiote Spider-Man, Invisible Woman, Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Cable, Cyclops, Hulk, Absorbing Man, Adam Warlock, Vision, Sensational Spider-Man, Nova, Black Bolt, Daredevil, Nick Fury, Valkyrie, Winter Soldier, Deadpool, Ghost Rider, Drax, Ultron, Crossbones, Black Panther, Hawkeye, HYDRA Soldier, Rocket Raccoon, Iron Fist, Doctor Strange, War Machine, Sandman, etc etc…

The upcoming Groot figure is a variant of the one from 2014.
The Black Panther that’s about to come out is an upgraded variant from the 2012 Return Of Marvel Legends series.
Black Bolt and Nova both came out in 2009 and again in 2014.
Red suit and yellow suit Daredevil both came out in 2009 and both of them again in 2015.
Sensational Spider-Man(the Ben Reilly Spider-Man) came out in 2008 and again in 2016.

They’re burning through Spider-Folk costumes like 3 or more at a time in the Spider-Man waves.
Just in 2014 through 2016, they’ve already done:
        Amazing Spider-Man 2
        Superior Spider-Man
        Carnage
        Classic Spider-Man
        Mayday Parker Spider-Girl
        Ultimate Spider-Woman
        Spider-Woman Jessica Drew
        Spider-Girl Anya Corazon
        Anti-Venom
        Toxin
        Spider-Man 2099
        New Spider-Man 2099
        Scarlet Spider
        Superior Venom
        Agent Venom
        Venom SpaceKnight
        Venom Eddie Brock
        Spider-Gwen
        Spider-Carnage
        Spider-UK
        Symbiote Spider-Man
        Civil War Spider-Man
        McFarlane Spider-Man
        Silk
        Ultimate Spider-Man Peter Parker
        Ultimate Spider-Man Miles Morales
        Spider-B!tch

        That’s 27 Spider-Folk in 3 years (if I’m not forgetting any).
        That’s NUTS.

Hasbro is going to use every variant costume they can come up with that needs minimal new sculpting.
I expect to see very soon:
        All-New All-Different Spider-Man
        Spider-Woman/Arachne – Julia Carpenter
        Iron Spider
        Big Time Spider-Man
        Future Foundation Spider-Man
        Scream
        Lasher
        Riot
        Agony
        Hybrid
        Phage
        Captain Universe Spider-Man
        Homecoming Spider-Man
Scarlet Spider II – Kaine Parker
        Etc etc etc etc

Less likely are the Spider-Folk that need a lot of extra sculpting:
        Silver armored Spider-Man
        Ends Of The Earth Spider-Man
        Spider-Ham
        Spider-Man Noir
        Etc etc etc etc

        • That may be but they haven’t remade any figure since they relaunched the line from return of marvel legends to now.

          • That’s not true at all.
Like I JUST said, “The Black Panther that’s about to come out is an upgraded variant from the 2012 Return Of Marvel Legends series.”

            They’ve redone Thor.
            They’ve redone Drax.
They’ve redone Rocket Raccoon like 3 times.
            They’ve redone Wolverine.
            They’ve redone Star-Lord.
            They’ve redone Captain America.
            etc etc etc etc etc

          • Dude each of them were different costumes or repaints not redo. I’ll give you drax though. Most of the figures that they made from return up to now have yet to be redone

          • No.
The Rocket Raccoons, Wolverines, Star-Lords, Captain Americas, etc have all been literally the same exact figure with like one slight color change at most, and some of them didn’t even change THAT much.
            Also, Groot.

  5. I hope to see more FF related charecters come out in the future. Also I love this new Invisible Woman!!!

  6. That H.E.R.B.I.E. is a repaint of the 2012 FF box set version. Not that Hasbro can’t reissue/reuse that mold. But it leads me to call the legitimacy of this into question, seeing as the smiling Groot figure I’ve since heard was proven to be a custom afterall.

    • You are mistaken. The Groot is real, just as the Invisible Woman and Black Panther are. I don’t report on fakes/customs/knockoffs. Never have, never will. πŸ˜‰

      • No offense intended, to be sure. Just don’t want to jump the gun, getting my hopes up, to eventually own this figure. πŸ˜€

        • I’ll post lots of photos when mine gets here on Monday, so you can live vicariously through me for a while. =D

  7. The head sculpt looks nice, but it appears gigantic in proportion to the body. Hasbro! You really need to get your Big Head Syndrome under control! This persistent problem has ruined a number of figures for me which I would otherwise enjoy… Cap Wolf, Venom, Nuke, Cap Britain, Wonder Man, Iron Fist, to name just a few.

  8. The previously released Ice Man would be a perfect build for Jonny. Maybe some retooling but that should be it. The Thing makes sense for BAF. So if you use 4 or 5 Figures, what will that be? Mr. Fantastic normal, Mr. Fantastic streched, Sue visible with Herbie, Sue Invisible, Johnny normal, Johhny on Fire? Maybe Dr. Doom? Who nows? But I am dying for an updated Set of the Fantastics.
