Last week, we finally learned the figures that will make up the second half of the Marvel Legends 2015 Spider-Man Infinite Series wave. Unfortunately, while collectors are drooling over this wave now, they’ll have to wait a few more months for them to hit the United States. But once again here to help tide us over until the figures reach our loving arms, it’s Hong Kong scrappers to the rescue: factory production samples of the 2015 Marvel Legends Spider-Man figures are now being sold online!
Opening disclaimer, as usual: the action figures shown in this article are scrapped figures from the Hong Kong Hasbro factory where Marvel Legends figures are produced. These are not being sold with Hasbro’s permission, and are illegally-obtained goods. In short: don’t buy them. Got it? Good.
Now then, thanks to the ever-dependable scrapper seller viperskingdom, we’ve got our first look at the actual 6″ Marvel Legends Spider-Man Infinite Series 2015 figures currently being manufactured overseas.
Reusing a retooled body from last year’s awesome Amazing Spider-Man 2 Marvel Legends figure, the 2015 Marvel Legends Spider-Man 6″ figure is super-articulated and comes with some outstanding accessories, including a slice of pizza and an alternate head with part of Spidey’s mask pulled up, showing that winning Peter Parker smile!
About the only thing that I truly dislike about this figure is Spidey’s weird, attenuated booty. Spider-Man looks great from the front, but from the back his buns look truly bizarre.
2015 Marvel Legends Spider-Man Infinite Series Anti-Venom 6″ Figure
On the other side of the coin, Hasbro’s first Anti-Venom action figure looks positively atrocious. Ignoring the fact that this particular character has now been dealt with permanently in the comics, the Anti-Venom figure itself looks terrible with the lack of a paint wash or some other paint deco to bring the sculpt to life.
I totally understand and sympathize with Hasbro wanting to get more use out of the Marvel Legends Toxin mold, but Anti-Venom was a poor choice for it. He looks awful.
Marvel Legends Ultimate Spider-Woman Figure (Warriors of Web)
Though she seems like a bit of an odd choice for inclusion in this set, the release of the Marvel Legends Ultimate Spider-Woman AKA Ultimate Black Widow AKA Ultimate Jessica Drew couldn’t have been more ideally timed.
Though I never cared much for this female Peter Parker clone in the Ultimate Spider-Man comic books, her role in the “Scarlet Spiders” portion of “Spider-Verse” has been compelling enough to convince me that I need this Ultimate Spider-Woman Marvel Legends figure.
The Hasbro Ultimate Spider-Woman figure itself is admittedly a mite bland, but that’s accurate to her character design. I do really enjoy her cool windswept hair, though.
2015 Spider-Man Marvel Legends Spider-Girl Action Figure
The fan-favorite MC2 Spider-Girl will also be getting her first 6″ figure from Hasbro Marvel Legends in 2015! Despite not being part of the 616 universe at all, May “Mayday” Parker has had her own Toybiz figure and even a pair of Bowen Designs Spider-Girl mini-busts previously.
Wearing a costume that’s an homage to the Ben Reilly Sensational Spider-Man, Spider-Girl looks stellar for her first-ever (and likely only) Marvel Legends figure. I can’t wait for this one.
Whether you’re being dogged by the mafia or fleeing from a supervillain, Daredevil is your man! With the Daredevil Netflix series launching in under two months, I’m not surprised to see a new Marvel Legends Daredevil figure (along with the Marvel Infinite Series Daredevil 4″ figure I discussed last night).
We won’t know for certain until we get him into our grubby hands, but this may be the definitive Daredevil Marvel Legends figure that DD fans have been waiting years for! His billy club on the other hand, well… it looks more like Dardevil’s getting ready to go enter the Olympic Pole-Vaulting competition with that stick instead of clubbing some thugs with it.
The Marvel Legends Hobgoblin Build-A-Figure has gotten all kinds of grief from fans. Some are unhappy that he’s a Build-A-Figure (which isn’t surprising given the amount of new tooling he required and his overall greater use of plastic), while some collectors just hate this Humberto Ramos interpretation of the Hobgoblin.
Personally, I really dig the Phil Urich Hobgoblin in the Dan Slott Amazing Spider-Man comics, and I’m thrilled to get this figure that so closely matches the look and style of the character from the comics. YMMV.
2015 Marvel Legends Spider-Man 2099 Figure
Finally, we’ve got one of the most famous alternate versions of Spider-Man: Peter David’s Spider-Man 2099, Miguel O’ Hara! With one of the most stylin’ Spider-Man costumes ever, Spidey 2099 became a cult favorite despite not appearing in comics for years.
The shiny blue paint on the Spider-Man 2099 Marvel Legends figure looks wicked-cool, and I love his cape and clawed hands (which I believe he’s inherited from the great Marvel Legends Black Panther figure). If there’s any justice, this will be one Spider-Man figure that doesn’t spend year’s gathering dust on the pegs.
The Marvel Legends Spider-Man Infinite Series should be up for pre-order later this winter, with an arrival date in late winter/early spring 2015. I’ll send out an alert via the Marvel Toy News Facebook Page as soon as these go up for sale.
Having now seen exactly what we’re getting fresh from the Hasbro factory, how are you liking these Spider-Man Marvel Legends 2015 figures, Marvel fans? Will you be buying the whole wave and building the Hobgoblin, or picking and choosing with this year’s Marvel Legends Spider-Man series?
What makes you think it’s going to be a few months before these are released in the United States? I’m sure these will be making there way here next month, I seriously don’t a few months is a legitimate statement.
There’s a major port strike going on. Sideshow has products sitting at the ports that they expect to be backed up 5-7 more weeks as it is–and that’s for items already at the port. These Spider-Man Legends figures aren’t even finished with production yet, much less waiting at the port.
Keep in mind that we saw the Avengers Legends factory scrappers sold over a month ago, and those haven’t even had pre-orders allowed to be opened yet (though a few stores decided to jump the gun anyway). Once those figures actually arrive in stores, -THEN- the Spider-Man Legends shoud be a month behind them.
Unless something drastic changes, there’s just no way we see these Spiderman Marvel Legends in the US before March at the earliest.
EDIT: Although BBTS certainly thinks they’re going to be in-stock next month. I guess we’ll see…
Well that’s funny, pre orders for these just went up. Don’t assume that just because there are problems at the port that it automatically pertains to this item.
You hate Anti-Venom? How ya like him at 2 per case? LOL!
Y’know, I probably should have seen Hasbro double-packing Anti-Venom coming, and I just didn’t. *sigh*
I’m sure the logic was “Agent Venom sold well, and this guy is some sort of Venom, too, even if no one knows who he is. Long time and well known hero Daredevil coming back into the public eye a couple months from now? Short pack that sucker!”
I agree.
LOL
Can you please make more marvel titan hero series figure and make more lego set of it
Do we know what BAF pieces will come with each figure?
Pre-ordered the whole wave last night. Gonna sell that Anti-Venom in a heart beat though.
Same here.
This is sad that the arms on this spiderman are completely different from the ones shown at sdcc what a let down even the paint on the spiderman looks dull compared to the sdcc one
on the spiderman 2099 figure the paint is lighter then the one shown at sdcc
I dont really see a problem with Anti Venom, hes a cool character, and I personally like the face an spike sculpt. The paint should have a light gray wash maybe but other than that I feel its a nice addition.
hello I am from mexico ,my question is ,will be figures in anothers parts at world?
You’d have to direct that question Hasbro, unfortunately. If Mexico has been receiving recent waves of Marvel Legends figures, I’d guess that it will receive the new Spider-Man wave as well, though.
