2024 Marvel Legends Vision REVIEW ( Hasbro Void BAF Series)

Given that The Vision has now appeared in three of the highest grossing movies of all-time, a lot of collectors might expect we’d be swimming in easily obtainable classic green and yellow Vision comic book styled figures by now. But nope! That version of Vision has only appeared a couple times in his most iconic look over the past 21 years, and those 6” figures are quite expensive to track down. But Hasbro has come to fans’ rescue once again, and an all-new 2024 Marvel Legends Vision figure is now available as part of the Void Series!

2024 Marvel Legends Vision Figure Review

It may seem like just yesterday that Hasbro released their (non-white) Retro Vision Marvel Legends action figure in the vintage Toybiz styled packaging, but that was, almost unbelievably, over half a decade ago now. The vintage-packaged fandom has grown, tens of thousands of new collectors have entered the sphere, and that figure has escalated in price and rarity to well beyond what many fans feel comfortable paying.

I think that Vintage Vision figure was actually a bit ahead of its time with the butterfly swivel shoulders, but it wasn’t perfect—and isn’t readily accessible to most collectors now at all anyway.

But with The Vision now being more well-known and popular than the character ever has been in his history, there really needed to be one in circulation again. Hasbro could have straight reissued the ML Vision Retro figure and it would have satisfied many—but instead, Hasbro improved it to give us their best classic comic Vision figure ever.

While I think the metallic green paint used on that previous 2018 figure (shown above) is fully reasonable and logical to use for a character made of metal, the metallic green simply doesn’t look as authentic to the source material as this new version does with its matte green paint. I didn’t realize just how much I prefer the matte paint on this new version up until I had him right in front of me. This pain scheme just “feels” so perfect for the character.

The other big improvement here is the updated, now pin-less knee and elbow joints. Without ugly pins clearly obvious on Vision’s bright green limbs, the aesthetic of this figure is greatly improved. He’s really a quite beautiful figure now!

In addition, whereas the Retro version of this figure included just a severed Ultron head as an accessory, we get two open hands here instead (and a “severed” Void Build-A-Figure head).

The open hands add some variety to the poses possible, and are a welcome addition to the fists that were the sole hands with the Retro release.

Back of 2024 Marvel Legends Vision 6" Figure

Really, my only complaint about this figure is what we -don’t- get with it. Last year’s Vision Marvel Select figure by DST only cost $5 more than this one, and came with an alternate head and a multitude of energy effects pieces.

The forehead blast head on that Select Vision figure was super cool , and the omission of any effects at all with this one makes the poses achievable feel rather boring in comparison.

Articulation-wise, we’ve got virtually everything most fans would ask for:
—Ball-Hinge Head and Shoulders
—Butterfly Swivel Shoulders
Ab Crunch

—Ball Hips
—Swivel-Hinge Wrists
—Hinged Feet with Rockers

The Vision Marvel Comics Legends 6" Classic Action Figure

Vision’s joints are all smooth and ideally tight, and the paintwork is masterfully done. Quality-wise, this is an exemplary Hasbro action figure.

Review Marvel Legends Void Series Vision Action Figure with Void BAF Head

Overall: As a basic action figure, I think this Marvel Legends Vision is very solid. The classic comic book look a majority of fans have been asking for, now with modern pin-free articulation. But after opening that slick Marvel Select Vision last year that was loaded with accessories and effects pieces, this Hasbro one with just a couple extra hands really does feel a bit light. As a whole this is easily my favorite Vision Legends figure, but the lack of accessories to enhance display options really lets down an otherwise excellent toy.
