The moment that the first trailer for the Black Widow movie dropped and the corresponding movie Legends wave was revealed last month, collectors started demanding to know when and where we’d be getting a figure of the eye-grabbing white costume seen prominently in the trailer. Well, Hasbro didn’t make us wait too long for the answer: the Deluxe Black Widow Marvel Legends White Costume figure is now up for order with free shipping—and she comes packing extra gun, effects pieces, explosions, a flight stand and more!
When there was no white costume Black Widow figure announced at all for the Marvel Legends Black Widow series (that didn’t seem likely to get a wave 2), I thought that maybe Hasbro was holding out on that version to release as a store exclusive like they did Binary and Starforce Captain Marvel last year.
But nope—they had bigger and better plans for the popular white costume Natasha Romanoff! For the first time I can remember, we’re getting a deluxe boxed version of a standard movie Marvel Legends 6” figure!
Rather than being limited by what they cost in to a normal $20-$22 SKU, Hasbro has designed this $29.99 Deluxe Black Widow that they can give all the bells and whistles to accessories-wise.
Want interchangeable hands? There’s six to choose from! Blast effects pieces? Five! Pistols! Climbing hooks! Widow’s Sting electrical effects! There’s even two sizes of explosions to pick from when setting up your display! Hasbro clearly had a ton of fun with this box set, which feels a lot like the $80 and up Bandai SH Figuarts releases that we get here in the US domestically—but at a fraction of the price.
And hey—there’s even a “flight stand” included—something a lot of collectors have really been wanting to see Hasbro put into circulation! It’s sort of ironic that we get one with a character who can’t fly in Natasha Romanoff, but it works wonderfully as a clear generic posing stand just as well. Love seeing a Hasbro Black Widow figure able to do aerial jump kick poses! I am sort of bummed to still not see improved arm articulation on a “deluxe” female figure, though. Alas.
And for those who prefer their Black Widow in a costume that’s, well… black… have no fear: that iconic costume is still available for pre-order as well, although it’s short packed in the movie series at one-per-case and I do expect it to pre-sell out at some point as we get closer to its shipping date.
The Marvel Legends White Black Widow Deluxe figure is now up for order, and is scheduled to be released in March 2020. She’s listed on BBTS, Amazon and EE now, so there’s plenty of options for choosing your favorite retailers, and I don’t foresee this going to sold out status very quickly at a $30 MSRP (even if I think this iteration of Natasha is well worth that price).
What are your feelings on deluxe Marvel Legends releases like this Black Widow box set? Would you like to see more $30-ish figures like this with lots of accessories produced by Hasbro, or are you satisfied with the standard range of $20 ML we’ve become accustomed to?
Looks great with with a lot of great accessories but an easy pass for me. As to the question of which I’d rather, $20 regular or $30 deluxe, the answer would depend on the character, where it fits in my collection, and/or whether I think it may end up being a rare figure to find. I’m still hoping for a Classic Hulk/Bruce Banner two pack or even a Banner-to-Hulk transformation 5-pack… of which I know is highly unlikely.
Instant preorder for me. Love dem girls.
Neat stand, a ton of effects, great looking head sculpt and facial expression that doesn’t care about any of it… Well, almost there.
I do hope they do more deluxe figures like this, but not too often. The standard should still be… the standard. I’m not getting this one because I already have a Black Widow comic and movie version, and I’m not going to just keep getting the same characters over and over and over unless I have to for a BAF piece. I’ve got like 5 Iron Man figures and 4 Caps and 3 Hulks… It’s too much.
I preordered the black suit Black Widow. I do like the stand and the effects, but I am to the point of having enough Black Widows. I have the vintage card, Motorcycle rider, Infinity War, and Avengers Endgame Target 2pk with Hawkeye, Black Widow. The black suit version will be iconic MCU version, and I may get this deluxe version if it goes down in price.
ABSOLUTE DAY 1 BUY FOR ME! My favourite character in white WITH well-deserved FX AND a base… ah my dear Natasha, always bringing the future forward… <3
’bout dang time one of these came with a stand like this! I’m not super-attached to Black Widow (more of an X-Men person), but this looks like it’ll be an amazing figure; let’s hope this is the start of similar releases in the future (and that maybe Hasbro will also sell these stands separately).
As I am sure you are aware fans outside the US get these updates (other people mention when these are available in the uk) Sure I don’t expect you to list every country, but it would be nice to get a mention now & then. The face sculpt is amazing. It went up on PO at the same time here for about an extra 6 bucks. If this flight stand is as good as it looks I would not mind this instead of the baf sometimes. The release date in the UK is Feb/Mar. EE is April, but I doubt we get it early.
We need an 80 Years Spider-man(Romita) in this kind of deluxe set. Definitely one who needs it… being that he was absent last year!!
I really like this idea! I hope it becomes a “new norm” too. If it is a character that I want in my collection, a regular release is all I need/want. But then if it is a character that I love, a deluxe set like this is perfect! Granted…I don’t know that I am going to get this set (though I probably will because the Black Widow is absolute epic), if they make a set like this for Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange to go with the upcoming shows and movie…GOOD GODS YES!
Just saw the pics for both the Target and Walmart exclusive Black Widow figures. Talk about overkill along the lines of last year’s Captain Marvel output. $$$$$$$$
I’m fine with it! A few years ago collectors and fans in general complained about the lack of Black Widow merch when The Avengers hit theatres. We didn’t get a Legends BW until Captain America: The Winter Soldier released! The current merch supports the new BW movie so again….bring it on! 😁
I have no beefs with it either. If anything, it helps out collectors and if it does in fact reach the same levels as Captain Marvel, we’ll be able to pick the exclusives up for a lot less money later down the road. I just saw Walmart exclusive Binary Captain Marvel for $4.98 yesterday. But it’s still overkill.
