Bowen Designs has been making Marvel statues longer than any other company, and the result is that they’re now able to dive in and produce legions of secondary and even tertiary Marvel Comics characters to complete teams, rogues galleries and more. One of the most impressive roll-calls in the Bowen Marvel Statues line is the huge assortment of Spider-Man villains immortalized as statues. And Randy Bowen has recently shared a concept sketch of a proposed upcoming piece of a Marvel villain who’s never been done in this form before: it’s the Bowen Shocker Statue!
Bowen Designs previously released a Bowen Shocker Mini Bust (sculpted by Sam Greenwell) in 2006. At the time that was a total dream come true for me, as I never thought there would be another high-end Shocker item ever produced. It seems my Shocker mini-bust may soon have some company on the shelf, though, in the form of a full-size statue counterpart! While you obviously can’t tell much about the Shocker statue itself from the concept sketch teaser, that Daily Bugle base looks like a stroke of pure genius! I sincerely hope the base comes to fruition looking as cool as I’m imagining that it will be.
At this point, Bowen Designs has already solicited out through October 2013, so the absolute earliest this Shocker Bowen Statue could see release would be the end of 2013. But seeing as how all we’ve seen thus far is a concept sketch, I think it’s more likely we won’t see the Bowen Designs The Shocker Full-Size Statue until 2014 (if ever). I’ll post more news and information on this statue as it is released by Bowen Designs.
