Thus far, the Captain America Super Soldier Gear figures series have not exactly been a smash hit. I see very few people talking about these Hasbro 3 3/4″ Captain America The Winter Soldier figures, and plenty of every figure–even the shortpacked Red Skull–on retail shelves. Even so, Hasbro has Super-Soldier Gear Wave 2 ready to ship next month, and it brings a new character to the table collectors will actually want–the Falcon!
The Captain America Super Soldier Gear Figures Series 2 Case Ratios are as follows:
(3) Shield Blitz Captain America
(3) Rocket Storm Falcon
(2) Super Soldier Captain America
(2) WWII Captain America
(1) Red Skull
(1) Winter Soldier
While this isn’t the single greatest case assortment I’ve ever seen, it does give us three each of the two new figures and heavy pack the Rocket Storm Falcon action figure (the only figure in this series anyone is going to want), so in my mind it’s a terrific case pack.
The other new figure in this Super Soldier Gear Wave 2 is the Shield Blitz Captain America action figure. It’s a decent-looking Captain America figure packaged with some sort of crazy, rocket-powered shield launcher bazooka. If nothing else, Shield Blitz Captain America’s launcher isn’t a ludicrous as the suction cup blaster that came with Series 1’s Grapple Cannon Captain America action figure. Oy.
Captain America Super Soldier Gear Wave 2 is now available for pre-order, with an expected release date of February 2014. As the only figure I want from this wave is the Super Soldier Gear Falcon figure, I’ll be hunting for him at retail this winter.
What about you, Marvel collectors? Do you plan on adding Falcon–or any other 4″ Captain America The Winter Soldier Super Soldier Gear figure–to your collection?
Yes. Indeed. Absolute yes. I plan on adding any and Every version of the Falcon figure I can get my hands on to my collection.
Maybe even a couple3.75 Caps for customs.
I still haven’t seen a Falcon at retail.
I just saw Falcon today at retail for the very first time, so he’s (slowly) hitting stores.
I’ve been looking in different retail stores, some who luckily cater to collectors, and still no Falcon.
