Hasbro is getting geared up for 2014, and after releasing their solicitation information over the holiday for the Captain America and Spider-Man Marvel Legends Infinite Series figures over the weekend, they’re moving on to their 3.75″ figure offerings! While we’re going to have to wait quite a while for the 6″ Marvel Legends Captain America: The Winter Soldier figures to release, the Marvel Universe scaled Hasbro Captain America Winter Soldier Super Soldier Gear figures are now available for pre-order and will hit stores in just one month…

Hasbro began previewing their 3.75″ Captain America Winter Soldier movie figures at San Diego Comic Con and New York Comic Con 2013, and now they’re ready to show off the whole first (and hopefully not only) series of figures!

While Hasbro decided to forgo the ridiculous action-feature accessories for their 4″ Thor: The Dark World movie figures, ludicrously-huge weapons are back for the Captain America Super Soldier Gear action figures. The good news is that the actual figures themselves look to have pretty decent amounts of articulation and (for the most part) nice sculpts.

The Winter Soldier and Red Skull action figures are certainly the best figures from this wave, with the Steve Roger Super Soldier figure unfortunately looking the worst and most awkwardly sculpted. The outrageously-stupid oversized suction-cup “Grapple Cannon” unfortunately doesn’t do that figure any favors either (although I’m probably going to buy him anyway, as I want that MU-scale blue and silver Captain America shield).

The case ratios for the Captain America Super Soldier Gear Series 1 figures are:

(4) Shockwave Blast Captain America
(3) Grapple Cannon Captain America
(3) Winter Soldier
(2) Red Skull

Thus, the Hasbro Captain America: The Winter Soldier case will look like the image below…

Ordinarily I’d complain about having 7/12 of a case of figures composed entirely of figures of Captain America himself, but this case pack really isn’t all that bad. The two versions of Captain America are extremely distinct from each other, and I imagine Red Skull will in fact be the least-demanded figure in this series (unless, of course, he does turn out to be the surprise villain in the “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” movie–perhaps disguised as Robert Redford?).

With no super-shortpacked figures in this series, I expect it won’t be all that difficult to find any of the figures in Captain America The Winter Soldier Series 1 at retail (unlike the poor Dark Elf from Thor: The Dark World, which I’ve only seen at retail once myself).

The Hasbro Captain America: The Winter Soldier Super Soldier Gear figures are now available for pre-order in cases, sets and individual figures. The Captain America Super Soldier Gear action figures are scheduled to be released by Hasbro in January 2014 with a retail price of $9.99 each.
