“No. Way. No freaking way.” Those were my words this morning when I woke up and saw the latest news from Kotobukiya. It figures–it just figures–that immediately after I make a post in which my usual distaste for the Kotobukiya Bishoujo statue line shines through, Kotobukiya goes and shows a Marvel Bishoujo statue concept design illustration that blows me out of this world. I never thought they would pick her, but Kotobukiya has selected the one instant-buy female character in the whole Marvel Universe: it’s the Kotobukiya Jubilee Bishoujo statue!

We saw it painted at the 2013 San Diego Comic Con last month, so it’s not going to shock anyone that the Marvel Now Hulk ARTFX+ Statue is kicking off the Kotobukiya Avengers Now line. While the announcement is an expected one, however, it’s still nice to see Kotobukiya post the official glamor photos of their upcoming ARTFX+ Hulk Statue and let us know that we’ll have to make space on our shelves for this jade giant in March 2014…

Though much of the focus on Kotobukiya at San Diego Comic Con 2013 was focused on their upcoming Avengers Marvel NOW ARTFX+ statues, the Kotobukiya Fine Arts statues line made itself known with two brand new 1/6 scale statues.

From the X-Men side of the Marvel Universe, the 2014 Kotobukiya Juggernaut and X-Force Psylocke statues have now made their public debuts at SDCC 2013!

Kotobukiya made Marvel fans salivate at the start of this week when they revealed the Adi Granov full-color concept art posted for the Kotobukiya ARTFX+ Marvel NOW! Avengers statues lineup.

That tease has now paid off in dividends, as Kotobukiya has shown off half of the lineup for their comic-based Marvel NOW! Avengers ArtFX+ line at SDCC 2013: Captain America, Black Widow and the Hulk statues!

Kotobukiya has a real treat lined up to close out the 2013 lineup of Marvel Bishoujo statues: an all-new X-Force Psylocke Bishoujo statue! While Kotobukiya has released Psylocke before, the original Psylocke statue is 1:8 scale and out of scale with the current Bishoujo figures being released (not to mention mega-expensive). But Kotobukiya has heard the demand for a new and properly scaled Marvel Bishoujo Psylocke loud and clear–and she’s coming our way in December 2013!
