Note: I began writing this Iron Man Marvel Legends Ironheart figure review in September 2021, but completing and posting it got delayed because, well…
Somewhere during my NYCC 2021 preparations, my brain got it in mind that it would be a swell time to have a series of four consecutive strokes. Ten weeks, two hospitals, 50% of my vision lost, a couple tubes down my throat and one missed New York Comic Con later, I’m finally coherent enough to patch together my thoughts and complete this long overdue review (but please forgive any minor mistakes or typos in my articles for the near future)…

ven the hundreds and hundreds of 6” Marvel Legends figures Hasbro has cranked out over the last decade, you might think there are few significant characters left needing an update from Toybiz or even needing their first ML action figure. But as it turns out, there’s still some fan-favorites waiting for the limelight—and Hasbro is kicking off the first Spider-Man Marvel Legends 2022 Build-A-Figure wave with one such character! One of the last remaining key characters necessary to complete the Maximum Carnage 90s crossover lineup is the sound-manipulating psychopath herself: the 2022 Marvel Legends Shriek figure is in the house!
Continue Reading →There are few things in collecting life as sobering as realizing you don’t have the strength to force together all the pieces of a Marvel Legends Build-A-Figure while recovering from a [series of four] stroke[s]. But that’s precisely what happened over the weekend, when my wife had to construct the Iron Man Legends Ursa Major figure for me. However, once the deed was done, I got to enjoy the delight of yet another Marvel character I cannot believe Hasbro made a super-articulated action figure of. Is buying almost the entire Marvel Legends Iron Man series to build this Ursa Major BAF worhwhile or just too much to bear? Here’s my review…
Continue Reading →It’s a little bit tough to believe (and makes me feel about as old as old as the four strokes I had last month did)–but next year we’ll be celebrating two decades since Toybiz revolutionized Marvel action figures with the first-ever series of Toybiz Marvel Legends figures! Hasbro will be commemorating this milestone with new versions of all four figures from that series as a part of the Marvel Legends 2022 lineup, and the first pair is now available for reservations–Marvel Legends 20Th Anniversary Captain America and Iron Man are now up for order!
Continue Reading →It had been a long time since Hasbro unveiled a whole upcoming series of Marvel Legends action figures that hadn’t been fully leaked or at least heavily rumored all over the internet, but the Hasbro Marvel Team accomplished that very feat at this week’s Hasbro Pulse Marvel Fan First Monday stream! The 2022 Marvel Legends Spider-Man Retro Series 2 figures are now up for order—including the first-ever Spider-Armor Mark I and Hammerhead, new versions of Shocker, Ben Reilly Spider-Man and Hobgoblin, and more!

Hasbro Pulse Con and New York Comic Con 2021 may not be until October, but Hasbro isn’t waiting to drop some more big news and has another Marvel Fan First Monday livestream scheduled for tomorrow! And while we don’t know exactly what might be shown (especially now that the Eternals Marvel Legends series has finally, finally been officially solicited), Hasbro revealed a teaser in advance of Monday’s stream: a 2022 Marvel Legends Symbiote Spider-Man Retro Series figure!
Continue Reading →Hasbro has spoiled collectors with a plethora of Marvel Legends Build-A-Figure series, exclusives, box sets, Retro series figures and more throughout 2021–but there’s one wave that’s been waiting to leap into fans’ hands longer than any other. After slipping out overseas toward the end of 2020, the Marvel Legends Eternals Gilgamesh Series is now up for order! Eternals is of the most obscure franchises to ever join the MCU—will its cast of characters be joining your collection of 6” action figures?

We’re coming down to the wire in the Marvel Legends Galactus HasLab campaign–and defying the mid-month trends, the project has now been fully-funded with time to spare! But it’s not just Galactus who’s been funded–all three stretch-goal figures are also now confirmed, with thresholds reached for the Marvel Legends Frankie Raye Nova, Silver Surfer and even the newly-revealed Morg the Executioner! And with just over a day to go, only the Tier 4 stretch goal remains: a… giant hooded Doctor Doom head for Galactus??
Continue Reading →Fans have known for well over a year that the new Spider-Man: No Way Out movie would be arriving at the end of 2021, and that made it a given that a tie-in series of Spider-Man Marvel Legends No Way Out figures would be hitting stores around that time as well. Collectors had sky-high hopes for things like new Alfred Molina Doc Ock and Tobey Maguire Spider-Man Legends figures, but, well—what actually came to fruition is a little different: the Marvel Legends Spider-Man No Way Out Armadillo Series is now up for order!

2021 has been a weird year for the Marvel Legends Prop Replicas (or life-size “premium role-play items”, as Hasbro calls them officially) lineup. We got the excellent Marvel Legends Eye of Agamotto, but also the wildly-colored and totally bizarre bright cyan Captain America Stealth Shield. I wasn’t sure if we’d see any more entries this year, but looks like Hasbro had one more in the works, and it’s a good one: the Avengers Endgame Marvel Legends Iron Spider helmet is now up for order! Most of these ML life-size helmets have been pure win, and this looks like no exception…
Continue Reading →One of the most poorly-kept 6″ Marvel Legends “secrets” of the year was that a classic Excalibur team set of some kind was on the way. Many fans assumed we’d be seeing a 5-Pack (or larger) to knock out the whole core team in one fell swoop, but it ends up that those guesses slightly missed the mark. Today, Hasbro officially revealed the upcoming Exclusive Marvel Legends Excalibur figures box set—including Captain Britain, Meggan and Shadowcat Kitty Pryde!
Continue Reading →I’ve gone out of my way to avoid watching any and all trailers for each of the Disney+ Marvel series so far, so from the time Hasbro unveiled this year’s new Loki in drab businessman-looking attire to when I ordered this Marvel Legends Loki Disney+ figure online to even after I had it unboxed and in-hand, I had zero clue what the heck this ML Loki was all about. But having now watched and fallen in love with the entire Disney+ Loki series—and with Sylvie and Mobius figures on the way—it’s high time I sat down and reviewed what is definitely the weirdest-clothed Loki action figure to-date…
Continue Reading →The clock is ticking down on the Marvel Legends Galactus HasLab project, and since last week’s reveal of an exclusive Frankie Raye Nova unlockable didn’t do much to move the needle (at all), no time like the present to announce more releases to support backing the World Devourer! And so, that made yesterday the perfect time for Hasbro to officially reveal some figures we basically all knew were on the way anyway: the Marvel Legends Fantastic Four Retro series is now up for order! And while we’ve had the FF a few times in the last couple years, this wave brings us some stuff we’ve never seen before—like Psycho Man and the High Evolutionary!

Fantastic Four may have been the primary plot-line of this week’s Hasbro Pulse Marvel Fan First Monday stream, but there were still a few nuggets of non-FF news to be found! And X-fans have got some things they knew about—and some they did not—to get excited about! For the first time ever, ShopDisney (AKA the online Disney Store) is sharing an exclusive with Hasbro Pulse Premium: the exclusive Marvel Legends X-Force 3-Pack Cannonball, Domino and Rictor figures are now up for order! If you ever wanted Cannonball with legs, asymmetrical Domino or wild 90s Rictor with luscious long hair, this is the set for you!
Continue Reading →With less than 28 days to go in the HasLab Marvel Legends Galactus campaign, the project is currently sitting at 10,404 backers–about 74.3% of the 14,000 minimum–met. In isolation, that’s a fantastically (pardon the pun) encouraging number for the World Devourer. But when you take into consideration that the vast majority of those sales are from the first day and most days since have had less than 100 backers, those numbers are a little worrisome. And that may be why, even though Galactus himself hasn’t been backed yet, Hasbro decided to drop the curtain and reveal the first stretch goal yesterday: the first-ever Marvel Legends Frankie Raye Nova figure!
