Sometimes, prominent classic characters like Mephisto and Madelyne Pryor never make it into Marvel Legends figure production at all after decades of requests from fans. And sometimes, we get characters like the demented post-psychoactive goo villainous clone of Spider-Man as toys less than a year and a half after his first appearance. Fair or unfair, the Retro Spider-Man Marvel Legends Chasm figure has started shipping out—is this crazed, mutated Ben Reilly worth adding to your Spidey villains shelf?

Hasbro has revealed and released such a steady stream of 6” Marvel Legends figures throughout the year so far that with the upcoming Disney+ wave having already leaked, I wasn’t certain they’d have many surprises left to show at SDCC 2023. The Marvel Legends Marvel Knights Mindless Ones BAF Series is now up for order, including Blade, Marvel Suns Iron Man, classic Luke Cage and more!

Continue Reading →Speculation has run wild over the past weeks as fans made their guesses as to what this year’s San Diego Comic Con Marvel Legends exclusive would be—but when Hasbro finally dropped the curtain this week, it turned out that the item was something I hadn’t heard a single collector guess. Launching next week and available online after the show, it’s the SDCC 2023 Marvel legends Deadpool & Bob Agent of Hydra figures two-pack! Does this surprise pick get you psyched up, Marvel collectors?
Continue Reading →SDCC 2023 is just a week away, and many fans have been waiting with bated breath for the announcement of the Hasbro SDCC 2023 Marvel Legends exclusive(s) that will be made available during the show. Hasbro threw fans a plot twist, though, by first announcing a not-exactly-new Walmart exclusive 2-pack coming our way as part of the Walmart 2023 Summer Collector Con: Marvel Legends Morbius & Six-Armed Spider-Man!

But Toybiz’s Generation X figure line flopped and was cancelled before Toybiz put out half the team—and Gen X merch has felt like it’s seemingly on some sort of radioactive list since. But finally, 20+ years into the run of Marvel Legends, official toys of Chamber and Monet St. Croix (M) have now been released! Are these X-Men Legends figures worth the decades fans have waited for them?
Continue Reading →Ch’od isn’t exactly a household name, and his immense size and bulk further stacked the deck against him ever getting a 6” figure release. Luckily, we are in a golden age of Marvel and X-Men toys, and most of the tooling to build the Starjammers’ powerhouse already existed. And so, collectors can now complete the Marvel Legends Ch’od Build-A-Figure by purchasing this year’s X-Men wave. Should they?
Continue Reading →Corsair is a character I kind of got off on the wrong foot with, as my earliest memories of him are me as a kid shoving aside piles of his 90s Toybiz X-Men figure while searching for the (stupidly shortpacked) first Phoenix/Jean Grey figure ever. I never bought that vintage Corsair, and never had much desire to own a toy of him. But Hasbro decided I’d need to buy Marvel Legends Corsair to complete the Ch’od Build-A-Figure (who’s already been discounted on Amazon), so here he is! Is this a definitive toy of the Summers family patriarch? Here’s my review…

Bringing us a surprisingly eclectic variety of characters, the Marvel Legends The Marvels series is now revealed and up for order—including an unexpected Amadeus Cho Hulk Build-A-Figure!

Continue Reading →uentin Quire is likely my favorite comic book character to debut in the new millennium, so I was more than a little hyped to see the Grant Morrison-created rebellious young adult’s name being bandied about on rumored lists of upcoming X-Men Legends figures last year. The future Phoenix host and omega-level mutant has gained a lot of prominence and popularity over the years, and the time seemed ripe for his first action figure. Even so, the design of this Marvel Legends Kid Omega figure… probably wasn’t what many of QQ’s fans had in mind. But if you’re building the Ch’od BAF, you’ll need Kid Omega nonetheless. So let’s have a look at the pink-haired punk’s debut figure…
Continue Reading →Gladiator Hulk is unquestionably in the upper echelon of best Marvel Legends Build-A-Figures that Hasbro has ever done from a marketing perspective. As the highly hyped co-star of Thor Ragnarok, basically every MCU movie figure collector set their eyes on owning a Gladiator Hulk BAF from the film. But not every fan could or wanted to buy a whole $120 6-figure set for the armor-clad Jade Giant, and those collectors were left out in the cold—until now. With a new extra head and a few updated paints, the individually sold Amazon Exclusive Marvel Legends Gladiator Hulk is now up for pre-order!
Continue Reading →Cyclops may not be an Omega-level mutant in the X-Men comics, but he’s unquestionably an Omega-level X-Men merch seller. Scott Summers sells likes wildfire every time Hasbro releases a 6” Marvel Legends figure of him in any of his closet of costumes, so it’s not shocking that Hasbro is revisiting a popular costume they first released over a decade and a half ago. X-Men Legends Astonishing Cyclops is now arriving. Does this new version surpass the one from the Brood Queen series?
Continue Reading →Mantis was a controversial choice to be the Build-A-Figure way back in the Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 series six years ago, but in the 2023 Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Cosmo wave, Mantis finally gets the single-packed shelf presence at retail that she deserves. Is the new GOTG Legends Mantis figure worth adding to your team roster…?
Continue Reading →Kraglin is the sort of character that—played by James Gunn’s brother or not—I’d have insisted anyone who said we’d ever see on retail store shelves was lying. But 9 years later, here we are—and here Marvel Legends Kraglin is on the pegs at Target. Kraglin is also available shipping from online retailers now—is this fourth most famous Ravager worth ordering for yourself?
Continue Reading →It may seem like just yesterday that the Toys R Us Exclusive Marvel Legends Dark Phoenix & Cyclops two-pack was in stores, but it was actually six long years (and one Toys R Us bankruptcy) ago. Prices for those figures long ago went wild on the aftermarket, and many fans were left without perhaps the most iconic Marvel female villain of all in their collections. But Hasbro heard the cries and responded, and now the Marvel Legends Dark Phoenix Retro figure is shipping out at a fraction of the price of the original’s aftermarket. But is this updated Jean Grey an upgrade…?
