“X-Men: Days of Future Past” may have just hit theaters a few days ago. There’s no release date yet for its DVD/Blu-Ray yet at all, nor any specs or bonus features listings available yet for the movie. But all that means nothing to Amazon, as they’re ready to move in and stake their claim to X-Men movie fans’ dollars! If you ever wanted to be Magneto– well, you still can’t. But you can at least channel your daydreams around a very cool Magneto item: the X-Men Days of Future Past Blu-Ray set with exclusive Magneto Helmet replica is now available for order!

At this point, I’ve come to realize that virtually every company that’s ever made a sculpt for the Iron Man Mark VII armor is going to do a money-grab by repainting that item gold and calling it Midas Iron Man. Don’t fight it–just accept it.
And the latest company to cash in on their old Revoltech Iron Man Mark VII figure sculpt is Kaiyodo! Coming this fall–the Revoltech Iron Man Mark XXI figure is now up for order!

Usually I’m looking forward to these shows for news on Gundam or One Piece or Dragon Ball Z, but the last few years Bandai has also had a slight Marvel presence. And at this weekend’s Bandai Tamshii Nations Summer 2014 Collection event, they finally debuted their first two figures from Iron Man 3: the SH Figuarts Iron Patriot and Iron Man Mark 42 figures!

Though he’s not as impressive as his counterparts, you’ll need him anyway if you plan on completing the Avengers Figma lineup: the Figma Captain America figure is now up for order!

With that being the case, I imagine you’ve all heard of this video game called “Disney Infinity”. Like “Skylanders”, you buy Disney figures and stick them on a special base to activate the character in the Disney Infinity video game. Of course, all this was irrelevant to Marvel fans–until now! Today, Disney announced the new Disney Infinity Marvel Super Heroes video game, which will coincide with the launch of Disney Infinity Marvel figures and characters!

Even so, Diamond Select Toys will give Marvel bust collectors at least something to smile about later this year, when they release a pair of Marvel mini busts based on 2014’s not-quite-hottest Marvel movie: the Amazing Spider-Man 2 Green Goblin and Spider-Man mini busts are now available for order!

That time is now, and the lucky company looking to strike a nostalgic nerve is Diamond Select Toys! Coming this summer from Diamond Select–the Marvel Retro Spider-Man 8″ figure is now up for order!

Nothing wrong with that–I love Cap and Rocket Raccoon as much as the next guy (okay, I love Rocket more than most), but I also like to see some less-merchandised, obscure characters get the spotlight. This latest news isn’t regarding one of those characters. In fact, it’s a new figure of a character who’s gotten more merch in the past few years than any other. But this is a good one–it’s the Bandai S.H. Figuarts Iron Man Mark 42 (XLII) figure!
Continue Reading →Despite LEGO’s best efforts, photos leaked out from the 2014 Toy Fair International of all of the Guardians of the Galaxy LEGO Marvel Summer 2014 sets. All of the sets–save one! Perhaps it was because it was the smallest of the sets and most difficult to photograph, or perhaps because folks were less interested in it than the other sets on display. Regardless of the reason, we’ve yet to get a good look at the LEGO Guardians of the Galaxy Starblaster Showdown 76019–until now! And while the set includes just one exclusive minifigure, it’s one many fans will want to army-build…

I do it with blind-boxed vinyl figures. And two of the blind boxes that I picked up this week (of many) were my first two KidRobot Marvel Labbit Minis Series 2 “bloxes”. I was aiming for Carnage and Anti-Venom, but this just wasn’t my week (if any regard). I drew the two most common KidRobot Marvel Labbits Series 2 figures: Spider-Man and Iron Man. Were they worth my 20 bucks? Read on…

If you answered “yes” to both these questions, Play Imaginative has just the thing for you! The Iron Man 3 Play Imaginative 1/4 War Machine Raw Edition figure is now available for order… and it’s limited to just 200 pieces produced!

Unfortunately, it looks like those fans are going to have to wait a little more. NECA announced their next Avengers 1/4 scale figure this morning, and it’s a repaint with a new head–the NECA Captain America Battle Damaged quarter-scale figure is now up for order!
Continue Reading →In the aftermath of Figma officially opening orders for their exquisite (albeit excessively expensive) Avengers Figma Iron Man Mark VII figure, Kaiyodo has decided to cash in on all of the interest in the Mark VII Iron Man as well! Though it was first released in early 2013 to mixed reviews and took quite a while to sell through, the Avengers Revoltech Iron Man Mark VII figure will be reissued and flying back to stores in summer 2014! But should you buy one? Maybe, maybe not…
Continue Reading →Considering the Iron Man Mark VII armor is featured in the most popular and top-grossing superhero movie of all-time (The Avengers), you’d think our shelves would be overflowing with a ton of great scaled 6″ Marvel Legends Iron Man Mark VII figures. Instead, we have zero. For whatever reason, Hasbro has never prioritized making a Mark VII Iron Man Marvel Legends-scaled figure, leaving a gaping hole in many collectors’ lineups. But it’s Japan to the rescue! Coming in August 2014, the amazing (and amazingly expensive) Avengers Figma Iron Man Mark VII figure is now up for order!
Continue Reading →It’s always tough to drum up enthusiasm to write an article that most people aren’t going to read about a figure that most readers aren’t going to be interested in buying. Luckily, it helps when the figure in question happens to be one of your absolute favorite characters in the whole Marvel Universe! Coming to stores in July 2014, it’s the biggest Rocket Raccoon action figure scheduled for release–the mighty 8″ Big Blastin’ Rocket Raccoon Guardians of the Galaxy electronic figure!
