Some pretty bizarre things have happened to Peter Parker over the years, including growing six arms and also turning into an anthropomorphic Man-Spider (both in the same story!). But one of the absolute most wildly unexpected occurrences has to be when Spider-Man gained the semi-phenomenal cosmic powers of Captain Universe! And now, Spidey’s most powerful form is immortalized forever as a 6″ figure–the Hasbro Marvel Legends Cosmic Spider-Man figure is now available!

At this point, there aren’t too many Spider-Man villains that have never had an official 6″ Marvel Legends figure released at least once. But one character that’s been overlooked–at least until now–is the albino mob enforcer, Tombstone. Lonnie Lincoln is finally getting his due from Hasbro, and while his costume might not be everyone’s first choice, the Marvel Legends Tombstone figure that went up for sale last week is really pretty killer…

I am not a gamblin’ man, so I was not altogether thrilled when I had to roll the dice and hope for the best when Amazon created a listing for a new movie Homecoming Spider-Man Marvel Legends figure with an incorrect old stock photo on Friday. Thankfully, not only did my hunch that this was a new figure pay off–it turned out that instead of the old Amazing Spider-Man 2 figure incorrectly pictured, it was actually my most-wanted figure in the wave: the 6″ Marvel Legends Homemade Suit Spider-Man figure!

Of the many Funko Marvel Collector Corps boxes that have shipped since the advent of the series, the single most divisive box among subscribers was the MCC Guardians of the Galaxy box that shipped at the end of 2015. Personally, I loved the scarf and ornaments in that box–but not everyone shared my sentiments. But while that box wasn’t a unanimous hit, I think the latest one might be! While the Spider-Man Homecoming Box is now up for order, let’s have an in-depth review of this month’s outstanding GOTG Vol. 2 Box before we look to the future!

Polaris is another one of those X-Men characters who’s had a pretty rough time over the years. She’s been a hero, she’s been a villain. She’s been crazy, she’s been not crazy. Sometimes she’s even Magneto’s daughter! But one thing … Continue Reading →
Last year’s inaugural wave of X-Men Marvel Legends figures brought with it a new version of the patriarch of X-Force, Cable, and if the second wave is any indicator, it looks like we may get one member of X-Force in future waves as well. And in the X-Men Legends 2017 wave that hit stores this winter, that member is Shatterstar! Marvel Legends Shatterstar (and the rest of the X-Men Legends Series) are finally available online–and once you get him, you’ll have the best toy of the character ever…

At SDCC 2016, Hasbro challenged the boundaries of what many collectors believed it was possible for a toy company to release at mass retail with one action figure announcement: Disco Dazzler. While most people thought that if we ever got a Dazzler figure, it would be some sort of exclusive, that perception was shattered when she was placed in the mass market X-Men Warlock Series. The Marvel Legends Dazzler figure is currently selling for a couple bucks over retail–is she worth the extra dollars?

I posted my reviews of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Marvel Legends Yondu and Star-Lord figures earlier this month, and now it’s time to complete the set with the last movie figure in Wave 1! Drax is arguably the least popular member of the team, and you can get this new Marvel Legends Drax figure for about $17 online right now–but is it worth upgrading if you already own the 6″ Drax figure from the first movie?

Earlier this week I talked about the high-end life-size eFX Star-Lord Helmet prop replica that very few collectors can (or will) be buying. So today, let’s take a look at a Guardians of the Galaxy movie Star-Lord toy that pretty much all of us can afford–and many of us already have! Hasbro’s 2017 Marvel Legends Star-Lord figure is now available online for below the retail price, and it’s downright perfect–as long as you’re looking at it from the right angle…

Superhero costumes being continuously redesigned is a fact of life in the comic book world that readers have long been accustomed to. But some new interpretations really throw you for a loop nonetheless, as was the case with me and and lumberjack-looking, bearded Colossus. Over the course of a year the look finally grew on me–just in time for the beard to be shaved off in the latest comics! But hey, at least we’ll always have this new Hasbro X-Men Marvel Legends Colossus figure, right?

If there was one figure that I was all but certain I’d be awarding an ‘A+’ to as soon as it was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con 2016 last year, it’s the 2017 Marvel Legends Jim Lee Cyclops 6″ figure. And predictably, the one-per-case Cyclops figure is selling for crazy amounts online after arriving in limited quantities last month. But is the Cyclops Marvel Legends X-Men Warlock Series figure really all it’s cracked up to be? Well… not exactly…

It’s been an agonizing nearly year-long wait for Hot Toys Marvel figure collectors, but those 1/6 Hot Toys Captain America: Civil War movie figures we ordered last spring…? At long last, most of them are finally starting to arrive! And for those who missed out on the first version and didn’t want to pay aftermarket prices for him, there’s no figure from the series more anticipated than Bucky! The Hot Toys Civil War Winter Soldier is now shipping and still available for order–and my review of MMS351 will tell you why you should absolutely get one while you can…

I started my reviews of the new Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel Legends series several weeks back, but got sidetracked by the news juggernaut that was New York Toy Fair 2017. But now it’s back to reviews! And this time, I’ll be covering a movie character who probably deserved to have a figure for the first movie–but didn’t. Luckily, Hasbro has come a long way in three years. So even though he’s already down to 16 bucks shipped online, the first-ever 6″ Marvel Legends Yondu figure we’re getting this year is way better than the one we would have gotten in 2014…

It’s a slow start to the week as far as fresh Marvel toy news to report goes, but that’s okay, because it means I get to dig into my humongous cache of figures needing reviews! Last week I talked about the Marvel Select Groot figure that surpassed all expectations, and this week let’s take a look at the Guardians of the Galaxy team leader. The exclusive Marvel Select Star-Lord figure is now in-stock online–should you order one? Read on…

If there’s one character I never expected to see make a comeback in the modern universe, it’s the alternate future version of Wolverine: Old Man Logan. But come back Logan has, and his place in the pantheon of beloved Marvel characters is now complete as far as Hasbro is concerned, because Old Man Logan has earned himself his first-ever 6″ Marvel Legends figure! This whole wave isn’t expected to hit most retailers for another month, but Target got an early shipment and you can also snag Marvel Legends Old Man Logan for about 25 bucks on ebay. If you can get one early, I recommend it–this is one of my favorite Wolverine figures ever…
