When Hasbro released their first 6” Marvel Legends Rogue figure in her 90s Jim Lee costume back in 2017, it was a pretty big deal and a hole-filler for many X-Men collectors. Flash-forward 6+ years, and we’ve had multiple X-Men Legends Rogue figures since. Joe Fixit the Las Vegas Mob Enforcer is about as far down on my list of favorite Hulk iterations as you can get, so I wasn’t too chapped about missing the Joe Fixit BAF of the Marvel Legends GamerVerse series I absolutely didn’t want to buy the entire wave of back in 2020. But now that I could get him solo as a Marvel Legends 2023 Walmart Exclusive (without having to buy variants of Iron Man and Captain America I’d immediately bin), this Grey Hulk looked a whole lot more appealing. Sentinels being giant freaking killer robots is a bit of a double-edged sword when it comes to merch, as every X-Men fan wants one or more—but, well, they’re -giant- freaking robots. And “giant” in the collectibles world is often synonymous with “expensive”. But Hasbro has a clever solution to that accessibility roadblock in their bag of tricks: the low-priced, low-detailed and low-articulated Marvel Titan Hero Series of oversized figures! And so, for the first time in decades, you can order a foot-tall-plus Sentinel for under 30 bucks! And sometimes, we get characters like the demented post-psychoactive goo villainous clone of Spider-Man as toys less than a year and a half after his first appearance. It’s taken a few… decades… but the continuation of the legendary X-Men The Animated Series (sometimes affectionately referred to as X-Men ‘92) is finally almost upon us (sort of)! New Mutants is my lifelong favorite team comic book, so I was all-in for its successor, Generation X, when it launched in 1994. But Toybiz’s Generation X figure line flopped and was cancelled before Toybiz put out half the team—and Gen X merch has felt like it’s seemingly on some sort of radioactive list since. Corsair is a character I kind of got off on the wrong foot with, as my earliest memories of him are me as a kid shoving aside piles of his 90s Toybiz X-Men figure while searching for the (stupidly shortpacked) first Phoenix/Jean Grey figure ever. I never bought that vintage Corsair, and never had much desire to own a toy of him. But Hasbro decided I’d need to buy Marvel Legends Corsair to complete the Ch’od Build-A-Figure (who’s already been discounted on Amazon), so here he is! uentin Quire is likely my favorite comic book character to debut in the new millennium, so I was more than a little hyped to see the Grant Morrison-created rebellious young adult’s name being bandied about on rumored lists of upcoming X-Men Legends figures last year. The future Phoenix host and omega-level mutant has gained a lot of prominence and popularity over the years, and the time seemed ripe for his first action figure. Even so, the design of this Marvel Legends Kid Omega figure… probably wasn’t what many of QQ’s fans had in mind. But if you’re building the Ch’od BAF, you’ll need Kid Omega nonetheless. Cyclops may not be an Omega-level mutant in the X-Men comics, but he’s unquestionably an Omega-level X-Men merch seller. Scott Summers sells likes wildfire every time Hasbro releases a 6” Marvel Legends figure of him in any of his closet of costumes, so it’s not shocking that Hasbro is revisiting a popular costume they first released over a decade and a half ago.
