Oftentimes, Funko manages to whisk out exclusive POP! Vinyl figures with such secrecy and expediency that they arrive in stores before collectors even know of their existence. But sometimes–not so much. And the latest exclusive is definitely of the latter type. After being discovered in the Gamestop database last spring, the long-awaited exclusive Funko Black Widow with Captain America Shield POP Vinyl is finally available online and in some stores!

If you’re wondering how long we’ve known about the Gamestop exclusive Black Widow with shield POP Vinyl, here’s a hint: at the time the figure’s existence was discovered, folks didn’t even know why Age of Ultron Black Widow would ever come with a shield. Yep–it’s been that long.

But after months and months of waiting, what’s likely to be the last Funko Marvel exclusive to be released in 2015 has finally arrived for sale!

I actually wandered into Gamestop this weekend seeking the Glow-in-the-Dark Anti-Venom POP Vinyl figure–which I did not find–but was pleased and satisfied to find this Captain America Shield Black Widow figure instead which I didn’t even know had been officially released yet!

As far as main character variants go, this isn’t the most exciting one ever. It’s the same Avengers Age of Ultron Black Widow POP Vinyl head that we’ve already gotten before on almost the same body as the previous release–except now Natasha is carrying Captain America’s shield (as she briefly does during the Quinjet Chase portion of the movie).

It’s a pretty trivial scene in the movie, but obviously somebody at Funko liked it–not only is there this POP Vinyl figure of Scarlett Johansson holding Cap’s shield, but Funko even made a T-Shirt of this iteration of Black Widow!

While this is certainly not a figure that everyone is going to need to have to feel that their collection is complete, as I am a numbering completist with the Funko Marvel POPs vinyl line, I went ahead and picked up this new movie Black Widow for myself from the store for $10.99 total (I love no sales tax in New Hampshire, by the way).

As this is a unique figure and not a repaint, it has the unique number designation of 103 in the Marvel Funko numbering system, making it a must-buy for fellow numbering completists.

But if your local GameStop doesn’t have Natasha yet–or you don’t want to bother looking for her–you’re in luck! The online GameStop store has put their exclusive Funko POP Black Widow with shield up for order this weekend as well, for the same retail price as in stores. I’m all hunted out as far as Funko goes this year, so I’m thrilled to see another easy-to-get exclusive released to close out the year.
