Ever since I posted leaked photos from the new Funko book that was out on display at San Diego Comic-Con 2013, I’ve been wondering when and where the elusive Peter Parker Funko POP! Vinyl figure would make itself known. Well, it’s taken several months, but now we know for certain–the Funko Peter Parker POP! Vinyls Bobble-Head figure will be available exclusively at Stan Lee’s Comikaze Expo in Los Angeles, from November 1-3, 2013!
The mystery of the POP! Vinyl Peter Parker figure was abruptly solved today, though, as it was announced on the official website for Stan Lee’s Comikazee 2013 Expo that the Peter Parker POP! Vinyl will be sold exclusively at the convention at the Hot Topic booth. And hey–what better place to have a Peter Parker figure exclusive than at a convention bearing the name of Peter Parker’s creator, Stan Lee, right?!
As far as uniquely-numbered Marvel Funko POP! Vinyl releases go, this one is sadly really lazy. Just as I thought when I saw the concept art from SDCC 2013, this is just the original Funko Spider-Man POP! Vinyl figure with the head of Sheldon from “The Big Bang Theory” series of POP! Vinyls stuck on top.
Despite the fact that this isn’t the most compelling exclusive ever, I kind of want this vinyl Peter Parker unmasked Spider-Man figure anyway, as otherwise it will mess up the sequential numbering of my Marvel POP! Vinyls collection (Peter Parker has the unique number “34”, whereas typically convention exclusives are variants that share a number with the mass released version of a figure).
The Funko Peter Parker POP! Vinyls Bobble-Head figure will be exclusively available at the Comikazee Expo held November 1-3, 2013 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. No edition size is printed on the sticker of the Peter Parker Funko figure, but as this figure is a unique-numbered release, the edition size will probably be pretty hefty. Presumably the second Funko Stan Lee POP! Vinyl figure will also be available at the show, but no design has been revealed yet to confirm that non-Marvel POP! Vinyl figure.
This could also be found at Hot Topics around Christmas time…..the only difference was the convention sticker….
