When the listings for the Avengers Age of Ultron Funko POP Vinyls figures leaked out late last year, there was one name on the list that caught my eye: “Faded Vision”. Images of Vision figures that had spent too long in the sun and had their paint fade to nothing flashed before my eyes, but I should have known the name was a misnomer: the Funko Phasing Vision POP Vinyls figure has now been revealed!

Ever since the days of Toybiz Marvel Legends Vision, we’ve been getting variant Phasing Vision figures (there’s even a rare, high-end Bowen Designs Phasing Vision statue!).

So it’s not exactly a revelation that Funko, the king of exclusives, would have planned out a Funko POP Vinyls Phasing Vision figure of their own. What is  a bit weird, however, is that the name that’s been circulating for this figure is “Faded Vision”. I don’t believe I’ve ever heard of Vision’s ability being referred to as “fading”, but I guess there’s a first time for everything.

And speaking of a first time for everything–this is the first-ever Marvel Funko POP Vinyls figure that’s partially translucent! We’ve seen semi-translucent POP! Vinyl figures previously for the Star Trek Big Bang Theory POP Vinyls, but never in the Marvel line. (Could we see a semi-translucent Invisible Woman figure someday…? Let’s hope so!)

This Funko Faded Vision POP Vinyl figure shares the number designation #71 in the Marvel numbering sequence with the regular version of Avengers Age of Ultron Vision, so this is an exclusive variant rather than a regular release.

Internationally, the Phasing/Faded Vision POP Vinyl figure has turned up for sale at Popcultcha and EB Games. It’s not confirmed where Vision will be available in the United States, but I’ve heard both Hot Topic and Target as possible destinations for this Vision variant (personally, I’m hoping for Target–Target exclusive Funko variants are super-easy to find in stores). I’ll post an update once the release details for the Phasing Vision Funko figure are confirmed.
