It’s crazy to think that it’s already been a whole year since Thanos and the Avengers Age of Ultron Hot Toys were revealed at Toy Soul 2014, but Toy Soul 2015 has arrived–and brought with it a dozen-plus new Hot Toys 2016 figures! We saw the fantastic Deadpool movie figure yesterday, and now let’s take our first look at the Hot Toys Captain America Civil War lineup, including new versions of Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Winter Soldier and more!
These figures are obviously all still in the prototype form and under development, and some are less ready-to-go than others. That said, what we see on display at the 2015 Toy Soul event gives us a good idea of what to expect (for starters!) as the Civil War Movie Masterpiece Series starts rolling out.
The new War Machine Mark III die-cast figure and Iron Man Mark 46 Power Pose Series are both set to go up for pre-order in the next few days, whereas it’s not entirely obvious yet what changes have been made to the Civil War Captain America and Vision figures at all in comparison to their Age of Ultron iterations.
A lot of collectors missed out on picking up the Age of Ultron Captain America 1/12 figure before it quickly sold out and escalated in price on the aftermarket, but those fans will get another chance with this very similar-looking CW Cap!
The Winter Soldier Falcon is one of my favorite sixth scale figures ever, but the Civil War Falcon MMS is definitely going to give that one a run for its money with the new armored look and cool red highlights on the costume.
This Falcon costume also appeared in the Ant-Man movie, so getting an MMS for him here is like two for the price of one! (With, you know–only getting one figure.)
And hey, check it out–the Hot Toys Captain America: Civil War Black Widow figure has a new Scarlett Johansson head sculpt! It’s about time! That head sculpt is gonna sell a lot of Black Widow 1:6 figures!
Meanwhile, Clint Barton gets his third MMS figure with the new Civil War Hawkeye costume! Maybe as a compromise for the divided fan base who can’t decide whether they like Hawkeye having short or long sleeves (which side are you on?!), this Hawkeye figure has one short sleeve and one long sleeve.
The one-sleeved look is a bit jarring, but I love Hawkeye’s new dual-tone purple color scheme! I know not everyone loves Hawkeye, but this is among the figures I’m most excited about.
The Winter Soldier also makes a return appearance with a new Hot Toys Bucky Barnes 12″ figure! Bucky is a key player that needed representation in this line, and I think Hot Toys absolutely nailed his new look.
Presumably, this is being done so that Hot Toys can get a new Wanda figure out there without waiting to jump through all of the legal hoops necessary to release Scarlet Witch from a new movie, as Wanda Maximoff is half owned by FOX for movie (and movie merchandising) purposes.
Assuming that this new Scarlet Witch figure sells well, I’m sure we’ll see an updated Civil War Scarlet Witch costume down the road.
Obviously missing from these photos are three vital players from the movie: Agent 13 (Sharon Carter), Crossbones and the Black Panther. I know everyone is dying to see the Hot Toys Black Panther figure, but I imagine we’re still a couple months away from him being ready to show off publicly.
I’ll post updates throughout the coming year as new Captain America Civil War Hot Toys figures are revealed and go up for order, and you can follow Marvel Toy News on Facebook and on Twitter to have news and photos sent right to your favorite form of social media!
Is Hot Toys flooding the market with this already-huge assortment of Civil War sixth scale figures already revealed for next year, or will you take as many of their Marvel Movie Masterpiece Series figures as we can get? Which of these figures (if any) are on your buying radar already for 2016?
Definitely getting Bucky and probably Cap. Scarlet Witch looks great, but I’ll wait for the Civil War version. Excited to see these go up for pre-order!
Is there much of a difference between her Civil War and Age of Ultron ending costumes?
I’m willing to bet we see Black Panther, but I’m not as sure we’ll see Crossbones or Sharon Carter. Did we ever get a WS Crossbones?
The new Falcon looks great, though why is he only holding one gun? It looks like he has the other hand out like he’s ready to fire, but he’s not holding anything.
I reckon we will get a Spider-Man, but probably only after the movie is out. They’re trying really hard to keep his new suit under wraps.
Why does War Machine have a stupid baton? Are you kidding me! So lame.
Works for DareDevil or Bobbi Morse… But not Rhodey.
Because he’s fighting superheroes and probably needs a non-lethal way to subdue them. He’s not gonna be shooting machine guns and missiles at his friends.
Its still weak.
Have you ever been hit by a baton? I assure you, it is not a “weak” experience.
Has anyone noticed Ant-Man behind Captain America?
Yeah, what’s up with that? No love for Ant-Man by the author. Paul Rudd haters gonna hate, I guess. I love Ant-Man, and that movie is why Marvel excels. They breathe more life into their movies with some comedy (not all dark & gritty action like the DC films).
