Hot Toys Captain America Star Spangled Man Exclusive Shipping Soon!

In one of the faster turnaround times in recent Hot Toys collecting memory, the Hot Toys 2013 Toy Fairs Exclusive Captain America Star Spangled Man Movie Masterpiece Series figure is almost ready to fly into collectors’ homes and sell some war bonds! Though he only went on sale two weeks ago, Sideshow began sending out notifications today that their exclusive Hot Toys Star-Spangled Man Captain America MMS figure will begin shipping at the end of August!

It had been widely-speculated that the Golden Age Captain America figure shown by Hot Toys at toy shows in 2012 would end up being the Marvel Hot Toys 2013 Toy Fairs exclusive, and… well, everyone who guessed that was absolutely correct. The official title for the figure is “Star-Spangled Man Captain America”, as it represents the scenes in the “Captain America: The First Avenger” movie where Captain America functions as a symbol to sell war bonds and raise patriotism.

Hot Toys went for a fairly serious approach with this figure, which is almost a little bit sad. I would have loved a grinning Captain America head sculpt and a hand with a pointing finger to emulate the Captain America posters and such from the movie, but alas, it was not to be.

The Hot Toys Captain America Star Spangled Man Version MMS figure does come with a variety of movie-accurate accessories. He comes with seven different hands, an ammunition clip, his classic shield (as seen in comic books!), a figure stand display base and even an awesome tommy gun.

My favorite detail of this figure–by far–is the miniature note cards that Captain America has taped to the inside of his shield so that he can cheat while on stage and not have to worry about flubbing his lines. This is definitely the best and funniest aspect of the Star-Spangled Man Captain America Hot Toys figure, and I wish that Hot Toys had seen fit to insert some other comical features for this figure.
