After Iron Man 3 came out and introduced 36 new Iron Man armor permutations, it seemed like Hot Toys might not have to ever think up a non-canonical movie design for Iron Man ever again. But whether it was necessary to do so or not, that’s just what Hot Toys has done again: the Avengers Age of Ultron limited exclusive Hot Toys Movie Promo Stealth Iron Man Mark VII figure is now up for order! And if past movie promo Hot Toys releases are any indication, this figure is gonna sell out lightning-fast and then double in price on the aftermarket…
UPDATE: After five hours up for sale, Stealth Iron Man is now SOLD OUT! If you want him and didn’t order yet, now is the time to get on the Wait List!
First, they released the original Mark 7 Iron Man armor for the Avengers movie line. Then, they released the Battle-Damaged Iron Man Mark VII Movie Promo figure in advance of Iron Man 3–a release that sold out in under three hours! Later that year, in honor of Cyber Monday, the Midas Iron Man Hot Toys figure (a gold Mark VII Iron Man figure repaint) went up for order. And last year, as a summer convention exclusive, the Hot Toys Python Iron Man figure (kitbashed using Mark VII parts) sold out and skyrocketed on the aftermarket.
And now…? It’s time for Hot Toys to get one more use out of the Iron Man Mark VII armor permutation, as it’s back–and this time it’s in Stealth colors from the classic Iron Man comics!
Internationally, Hot Toys is taking the Avengers Iron Man Mark VII Stealth version figure with them for sale at various conventions this summer in the Philippines, China, Japan, Indonesia and more. But in the United States, we luck out–not only do we not have to go to a convention to buy the Hot Toys Stealth Version Iron Man movie promo figure–we don’t even have to wait at all! For us, he’s already available for pre-order (for as long as he lasts, anyway)!
This armor does not appear in any Marvel Cinematic Universe movie–but boy, it sure is beautiful! It just may be the most aesthetically-pleasing Iron Man that Hot Toys has ever released! I hadn’t been budgeting for another $300+ Iron Man right now, but I’m a total glutton for financial punishment when it comes to Hot Toys Iron Man figures, so this Hot Toys Iron Man Stealth Version figure was an instant purchase for me (especially since I’m sure if I wanted I’d be paying $500+ for him later this year).
The Hot Toys Stealth Iron Man Mark VII movie promo figure is now available for order, with a scheduled arrival date in the United States of September 2015. If you want this figure, though, you’d better act fast! The last Hot Toys Movie Promo figure Sideshow put up for sale–Golden Age Captain America–sold out in under 12 hours. And before that, the Battle-Damaged Iron Man Mark VII sold out in three hours. This is not a figure to wait on if you think you’re going to want it (unless you want to pay exorbitant aftermarket prices, anyway).
What do you think of the Hot Toys Stealth Version Iron Man Mark VII 1/6 figure, Marvel collectors? Is this an essential purchase for your collection, or do you consider this non-canonical MCU Iron Man to be a Hot Toys money-grab?
Oh,So,Shiny! Oh,So,Smooth! Oh,So,Dark!! Oh,So,Beautifully Black!!!
Oh that I could afford much room for this midnight made machine!
Cue AC/DC’s “BACK IN BLACK”… This hot toy is black star hot!
A gravity well draining my pockets so I will admire her from a distance. Lol
Now I’m thinking about painting a legends or MS Mark VII figure in black!
Wow…” missed out on the pre-order well I guess I’ll have to just wait and see when it comes up for order next time dammit….!!!
Get on the Wait List now, Toddman! Some came available this morning when Sideshow went to bill the deposit and some credit cards declined. If you get on the wait list *now*, you have a high chance of still getting one, IMO.
Thanks ‘ Dabid I just did I appreciate that info..!!
Pre ordered…
! Far Superior repaint compared to the “Hot Rod ” armor!
BACK IN BLACK. Got to be on of my favorites now.
So by the time I saw this post on Friday night, the preorders had JUST sold out. I was bummed, but I hopped on the waitlist (about 11:30pm EST on the 27th) and crossed my fingers.
I just got an email from Sideshow that my reservation will be converting to an order. I’m not sure if someone cancelled/got declined or Sideshow simply asked Hot Toys for more stock to meet demand, but I don’t care. This figure looks gorgeous and I’m psyched to be getting one!
Thanks for posting this. I was able to get one because of you.
