I woke up last week to what every man dreams of–unexpected new glamor shots of a new Hot Toys Iron Man figure. Though it had made its debut at SDCC 2013 less than a week before, the Hot Toys Iron Man Silver Centurion Mark 33 Enhanced Energy Suit was already ready for its official photography session! As soon as I saw that Hot Toys had posted photos, I knew it was only a matter of time until the red and silver centurion made his presence known on Sideshow Collectibles website. Well, it took a lot longer than I expected–a whole week longer. But lo and behold–he has arrived! The Iron Man 3 Hot Toys Silver Centurion Iron Man figure is now available for pre-order!
Though it doesn’t exactly look like the comic book version of the armor, Hot Toys has done an excellent job of capturing the overall feel and aesthetic of the movie Silver Centurion Iron Man Mark XXXIII Enhanced Energy Suit, resulting in one of the most beautiful Iron Man Hot Toys figures ever. Seriously, I actually don’t like the Silver Centurion armor in the comic books, and even I want this amazing Hot Toys Iron Man Silver Centurion 1/6 figure!
This particular Hot Toys Iron Man 1/6 Silver Centurion figure has a feature we haven’t seen before in the line–the ability to attach removable blades to the suit’s arms. It seems sort of weird to me that the comic book-inspired suit was the one chosen to get these forearm blades, but they are pretty cool, so I can’t really complain.
As per usual, the Iron Man Silver Centurion Enhanced Energy Suit figure will have a Light-Up LED Arc Reactor in its chest. And, as we’ve grown accustomed to, there will be an alternate head with the faceplate of the helmet pulled up, showing off Robert Downey Jr.’s handsome mug. There’s also a battle-damaged chestplate, so you can have the Hot Toys Mark 33 Silver Centurion figure instantly tattered and destroyed, just like in the movie!
In addition to the battle-damaged chest plate and swappable Robert Downey Jr. Tony Stark head, the Iron Man 3 Hot Toys Sixth Scale Silver Centurion Iron Man figure will also include two extra pairs of alternate hands.
There’s even a Sideshow Exclusive Edition of the Silver Centurion Iron Man armor available, which includes a Battle-Damaged Iron Man Mark XLII Helmet. Ordinarily I don’t care about about the exclusive items much (especially when they’re dopey little holographic figures), but the Battle Damaged Mark 42 Helmet looks fantastic with the flame coming out of one eye. Sometimes I order through other online retailers, but Sideshow is definitely getting my money themselves this time because I’ve gotta have that Mark 42 Battle-Damaged Helmet.
The Iron Man 3 Silver Centurion Iron Man Hot Toys figure is now available for pre-order through Sideshow Collectibles. Like all Hot Toys Iron Man sixth scale figures, the Iron Man 3 Silver Centurion Iron Man Hot Toys figure is expected to sell out through pre-orders long before the figure is released, so definitely considering pre-ordering in the not-too-distant future if you want one.
