One of my first stops at the 2015 New York Toy Fair today was the Kotobukiya booth, which I cruised into with a sparkle in my eyes and dreams of seeing the Kotobukiya X-Men ARTFX+ statues in my heart. Unfortunately, those dreams were shattered. But as a consolation prize, I did get to see the just-revealed Avengers: Age of Ultron Kotobukiya Iron Man Mark 43 ARTFX statue!
But alas–it is not so. At this point, it’s sadly looking fairly certain that we won’t see the Kotobukiya ARTFX+ X-Men released until 2016. Sigh.
But what we are getting in 2015 are a variety of Kotobukiya Avengers Age of Ultron statues, with the newest one debuting today at the 2015 New York Toy Fair: Iron Man Mark XLIII!
When I saw the Kotobukiya ARTFX Iron Man Mark 43 statue, my heart skipped a beat while I tried to remember what the Iron Man Mark 42 ARTFX looked like. But then I remembered–it was action-posed and looked absolutely nothing like this.
So while many toy companies are merely repainting their old Iron Man Mark XLII collectibles into the Avengers Age of Ultron Iron Man Mark XLIII, Kotobukiya is graciously giving us an all-new and all-amazing Iron Man Mark 43 armor statue.
ARTFX statues by Kotobukiya are in the larger 1/6 scale instead of the 1/10 scale of ARTFX+, so the Avengers Age of Ultron Iron Man stands about 12″ tall and will work handily as a stand-in for those who don’t want to buy the $345 Hot Toys Iron Man Mark 43 die-cast figure.
The Kotobukiya Avengers Age of Ultron Iron Man Mark 43 ARTFX statue should be up for order later this winter, and is scheduled for release in August 2015. The price-point for this piece hasn’t been announced yet, but I’d estimate it will be around $130-$140.
Are you considering the Iron Man Mark 43 Kotobukiya ARTFX statue, Marvel collectors? Or are you totally sick of anything and everything Iron Man at this point?
Oohhh my word of all the things I have seen at the toy fair today this site only uploads post about iron man Deadpool and spider-man SMFH.
This site is also run by a singular person, unlike the vast majority of major collecting sites out there. It’s tough for one person alone to take photos across the entirety of the New York Toy Fair while posting to Facebook and crafting well-written, detailed posts from the exhibition floor for multiple sites all at the same time. If I can’t get everything written in a fashion that’s timely enough for you, I apologize, but I don’t imagine many sites with a single writer/editor could come close to keeping up with my productivity.
Slow your roll Secret Wars…
Love Iron Man but couldn’t they have shown something else ?
I agree. Not sure about more X men/Wolverines… Id like to see “B” team members.
KOTO keep impressing me! Love ARTFX Hulkbuster WAY more than Hot Toys pics so far.
This new painted Mark 43 looks good… wonder what else they got besides the new Wasp and Lady DP ?
