Reissues are the BBFF of new collectors and the bane of the aftermarket. Kaiyodo has released some real gems in their Revoltech figures line over the years, but with many of their best products having been sold out for long periods of time, the prices of these figures have often gotten out of control on the aftermarket. Several of the Revoltech Iron Man figures have gotten pricy on the aftermarket, but it looks like Kaiyodo is ready to make the Iron Man Revoltech line new collector-friendly again: the Legacy of Revoltech Iron Man Mark I Reissue is now up for order!
And thus, there’s still a market for Iron Man movie figures, including reissues of some of the best Iron Man action figures that have been released. In this case, almost unquestionably the best small-scale representation of the movie Iron Man Mark I armor ever: the Revoltech Iron Man Mark I.
The LR-023 Revoltech Legacy Iron Man Mark I figure is an exact reproduction of the figure that Kaiyodo first released in August 2013. This figure was sculpted by Yuuki Watanabe and features 19 points of articulation. While that doesn’t sound like a ton compared to many figures released these days that have 30+ points of articulation, 19 points is plenty of articulation for the bulky Iron Man Mark I, enabling it to take on most any pose you’d want without disrupting the aesthetics of the figure.
While Kaiyodo has gone on to make most of the other flashier and more popular movie Iron Man armors as figures, I hear other collectors comment all the time that the Mark I is their favorite release in the line.
The back of the Iron Man Mark 1 Revoltech figure has loads of great sculpting details with paint deco on them. For a 1/12 scale figure, this is super-detailed. It’s really a shame that most collectors will rarely be posing this Iron Man Revoltech figure with its back facing them!
The re-released Iron Man Revoltech Mark I action figure will come with the same accessories as the original production run of the figure. Iron Man Mark I comes with two pairs of interchangeable hands (one pair of open palms and one pair of fists), a name plate, a figure stand band, and a really awesome flamethrower flame effects piece.
While this is still a small-scale figure that’s in no way comparable to the super high-end Hot Toys Iron Man Mark I figure, the Revoltech Iron Man Mark 1 figure is 160mm (about 6.3″) tall, so it’ll fit in pretty perfectly with a 6″ Marvel Legends figure collection. I don’t think Hasbro is exactly chomping at the bit to release a new Mark I Iron Man Marvel Legends figure anytime soon, so this Legacy of Revoltech Mark I Iron Man may be your best bet for your Marvel Legends Iron Man armory.
The Legacy of Revoltech LR-023 Iron Man Mark I reissue figure is now available for order, and is expected to be shipped out in January 2015. Kaiyodo’s shipping estimates tend to be spot-on, so I’d be very surprised if this reissue ended up being bumped back to further in the winter.
Anyone who missed out on getting the Revoltech Iron Man Mark 1 figure planning to snag one this time, or are you satisfied with the low-end Iron Man Mark I small-scale figures that Hasbro has previously released?
HT saying there’s a possiblities of release Mark 1 to VII in diecast.
