Hasbro has given us some off-the-wall picks over the years in the Retro Marvel Legends Series, but I don’t think any full wave they’ve done before is as zany and unexpected as the Retro Spider-Man Legends 2026 wave unveiled this month at NYCC 2025 and MCM London. Coming our way this winter: Marvel Legends Cardiac, Hypno Hustler, Owl and even NIGHTCRAWLER are now up for order!

The recent X-Men Krakoan era of comics is my jam, and everything Si Spurrier wrote for that line is among its highlights for me. I honestly never thought the day would come that we’d get a mass release Uncanny Spider-Man Nightcrawler figure, but that day has come—and he’s somehow not even the zaniest figure in the wave!

Hasbro has split the 6 figure 2026 Spider-Man Marvel Legends series into three equal chunks, with two characters each from the classic comics, 90s comics and modern/recent comics. Ordinarily my tastes swing toward the 90s stuff, but getting Spider-Nightcrawler absolutely captures my heart. Amazing pick, Hasbro!

Nightcrawler needed to be a masked vigilante for a miniseries due to the evil orchestrations of Orchis, so he decided to hang out with Peter Parker, pop on a Spider-suit and have a steamy fling with Silver Sable!

It was a wacko mini, but a memorable one, and I’m glad Hasbro is commemorating it. This is my favorite oddball figure in a truly whimsically stacked wave.

We don’t get an unmasked head for Nightcrawler Spidey, but at least he comes with a teleportation effect, what seems to be a badly-colored Hopesword and some alternate hands. This figure looks straight up killer in the official photos. Absolutely my most-wanted in the wave.

The other modern figure in the set is “Spider-Venom”, which is Peter Parker re-bonded with the Venom symbiote following the “Venom War” story. That wasn’t the most-read or best-selling Spidey story ever, so I suspect this character comes out of left field for a majority of collectors.

The color scheme for Spider-Venom is striking, and Hasbro is giving us an honest to God well-done Peter Parker portrait here that they can reuse, so I’m chalking this up as a win. He’s also got a chain that he looks admittedly cool posed with. This is clearly the least interesting entry in this wave, though, imo.

Marvel Legends Cardiac was the first figure Hasbro revealed from this wave, and feels just so very… 90s! Cardiac comes with swappable hands, his obligatory pulse staff and energy effects pieces for both ends of the staff.

Cardiac is a bit of a fan-favorite character, and also someone it’s next to unthinkable will ever get an action figure again. If you’re into Cardiac, make sure you scoop up what I suspect is his once-in-a-lifetime action figure.

The other 90s entry in the wave is a new and improved Spider-Man 2099. Now that Miguel is a big movie star, this is his umpteenth Marvel Legends 6” figure. That said, we’ve only had a handful of nice comic book versions, so Spidey 2099 being included here is welcome.

The big draw for this Retro Spider-Man 2099 figure is the aesthetic of the perfectly colored seamless body, and I’m satisfied with it as a whole. The blue and red colors really do look perfect, and the selection of hands is all I’d want for them. This would have been a great place to include an extra Miguel O’ Hara head, so it’s a bummer that there’s not.

It doesn’t get more Retro classic than a Stan Lee-created villain with 60+ years of history, so I’m delighted to see The Owl getting his day in the sun as part of the initial Marvel Legends 2026 lineup. Leland Owlsley is primarily a Daredevil villain, but since DD is largely folded into Spider-Man Legends, Owl fits right in here.

Marvel Legends Owl comes with an owl pack-in figure and alt hands with his razor-sharp talons attached. There’s not a lot more to give a guy whose main powers are gliding and money laundering, so I’m happy with these accessories. Nice-looking figure of a”lesser-known villain.

The last figure in the assortment and one of the craziest picks I’ve ever seen in my life is Marvel Legends Hypno-Hustler. Straight out of the 1970s, the infamous Hypno Hustler is a well-known villain among die-hard comic book fans despite only a handful of actual appearances.

This is the sort of character I would have bet money against ever getting a toy a decade ago. Bravo, Hasbro.

Hypno Hustler comes with his signature hot pink Hypnotic Guitar and a mic, as well as Hypno Boots with attachable effects pieces. This is a zany conversation piece of an action figure if ever there was one.The 2026 Marvel Legends Spider-Man Retro Series is now up for order and arriving this winter. I could see a few figures in this set selling out during pre-orders, though recent price increases may preclude that.

I’m not keen on Spider-Venom, but the rest of this wave was an instant pre-order for me. What figure(s) in this series are you thinking of pre-ordering, Spidey fans? Is anyone besides me praying we finally get Rocket Racer next?
