After getting everybody all hyped up last weekend during SDCC 2025 for the new Magic The Gathering Marvel Legends Spider-Man series, Hasbro went and threw out a legit curveball today by quietly sneaking in one extra unannounced pre-order. Coming to specialty stores this winter, it’s a blast from the past! Straight out of 2020, a reissue of the long sold-out Retro Electro Marvel Legends 6” figure is now up for grabs! This new print will definitely come as a shock to resellers pricing their Electro Retro figures for double-MSRP on the aftermarket…
This year, it looks like Hasbro is having mercy on newer collectors and those who missed out once again, as they’re now reissuing the other villain from that 2020 Spider-Man Legends Retro series: (Max Dillon) Electro!
This covert drop is definitely a bit of a stunner, as this wasn’t mentioned by Hasbro at all during San Diego Comic Con 2025 last week. That said, this is a surprise relaunch for sure, but not an unwelcome one.
The vintage cardback Electro from the 2020 series is easily Hasbro’s best comic-styled version of Max Dillon, and also one that a lot of fans missed out on. He’s been selling for north of double his retail price on eBay and collecting groups, so having another crack at this Electro for retail price will delight plenty of collectors.
Now that we’ve seen both villains from that wave reproduced, I wonder if we could see the Retro Gwen Stacy or Peter Parker figures return as well? Personally, I think the timing might be ideal to see the full family from the Retro Fantastic Four series available once again.
The Marvel Legends Spider-Man Retro Electro figure is up for reservations now, and is estimated to ship out around the end of 2025/start of 2026. It won’t be at Amazon, Target or Walmart, so if you need the guy make sure to lock one in from a specialty retailer.
Are you electrified by this re-release, Marvel collectors? Who, if anyone, would you want to see Hasbro reissue next from any of their Retro lines (Spider-Man, X-Men, etc.)?
