Inhumans fans have had a very rough time over the years. Failed comic book series after failed TV series after canceled movie after failed comic book series, the Inhumans just never seem to quite connect with fans for any meaningful amount of time. Even their toy history is spotty, with no company ever completing the core Royal Family in action figure form—until now! Hasbro is doing the impossible this year, completing the Inhumans with two Marvel Legends Inhumans two-packs now up for order, including Gorgon, Triton, Black Bolt and Medusa!
Last year’s Lockjaw and Crystal two-pack is still available now, despite filling in two of the most demanded members of the Inhumans “team”, so I was dubious Hasbro would complete the family at all. But during New York Comic Con 2025, Hasbro boldly revealed all four missing members of the family at once, with pre-orders quickly following!
There’s been a lot of hate and division about the pairings for these packs, with many longtime collectors upset that we’re seeing the sought-after Gorgon and Triton (who have never been done before in 6” figure scale) split up and paired with Black Bolt and Medusa (who Hasbro has previously done a few times).
I can absolutely feel the frustration of fans who already have Black Bolt and Medusa and only want the new characters, but I can also see the marketing reality: a Gorgon/Triton two-pack is far, far less sellable to the masses and would be guaranteed outlet fodder. Pairing each of the new characters with kind of the “popular” characters at least gives these sets a more realistic chance at retail.
That said, this year’s price increases aren’t going to help matters at all sales-wise. The Black Bolt/Triton 2-pack is a pricey $58, while Medusa/Gorgon is a whopping $62 MSRP. Even so, I think the latter pack may be the better “deal”, with Gorgon being Build-A-Figure sized himself and Medusa having newly articulated hair.
Gorgon is built off the Caliban BAF body (with satyr-like legs, obviously) and comes with a power-charged giant mace surrounded by energy. This is the tallest Inhumans figure that Hasbro has done (Lockjaw is differently big). Gorgon looks great and is a character I legit did not believe we’d ever get in 6” scale.
Medusa has had two previous Hasbro Marvel Legends releases, but both of those were very dull figures that could basically just stand there because of her long hair. The new Medusa adds a point of articulation to make her hair prehensile, allowing it to swing left or right and facilitate actual action poses.
This is a big step forward for a Medusa action figure, and I appreciate the swappable face plates to give her angry and calm looks. I know people are disappointed about needing to buy Medusa to get Gorgon, but I think this set is pretty nice overall.
Even at 5 bucks cheaper, I’m not as enamored with the Black Bolt/Triton two pack.
Triton is the “hostage” figure in this pack, but is honestly kind of dull. He has swappable fists and karate chop hands, along with swappable modern head (with face mask) and classic head (without).
Triton’s fin mohawk is the most interesting thing about him, but he’s necessary to complete the family, so I’m glad to have him. Though I wish he was just a single figure and didn’t require me to buy…
The updated Black Bolt figure is nice and all but doesn’t feel like a big improvement over Hasbro’s prior releases of him. They’ve moved from the old Bucky Cap body mold to the new-ish pin-less Vulcan mold, but I think the yelling head is a major downgrade from the insane one on the 2018 Black Bolt from the Okoye Series.
Being able to swap the wings from resting to flying is nice, and I appreciate the variety of 6 hands we get. I’m not exactly blown away by this Black Bolt figure, but I’ll take it (since I’m forced to to get Triton).
Both Marvel Legends Inhumans two-packs are up for order now and arriving this winter. Will you be picking up either (or both) packs, Marvel collectors? Do you think these duos will hit sale pricing down the road?
