Marvel Legends Reissues: Astonishing Wolverine! 20th Cap! Cable! Kingpin!

This week can serve as a bit of a respite for many longtime Marvel Legends collectors, with deluxe Nimrod being the only slightly new-ish figure solicited (and even he is just a repaint with new heads). But Hasbro is filling space this week for fans who missed out previously with not one, not two, not three, but four reissues of popular past releases! Are any of this quartet on your wish list of figures you missed previously?

Marvel Legends Cable 2024 Figure Packaged MvC 2 Costume

Hasbro teased in late October that we’d see a multitude of restock pre-orders to kick off this month, and they have followed through as promised. Even so, many fans may be a bit surprised by some of Hasbro’s picks to go back into production. Let’s take a look…

2024 Marvel Legends Cable X-Men Figure with Pinned Arm JointsI reviewed the Zabu Series Cable just last summer, so it may feel a mite early to bring him back. That said, this late 90s Cable fits naturally with this year’s MvC GamerVerse theme and was scarce even in 2024. Getting Nathan back into circulation seems logical while fans are still completing their Marvel vs Capcom shelves. The 20th Anniversary of Marvel Legends Captain America from 2021, however, is a real head-scratcher of a rerun.

Captain America Hasbro 20th Anniversary Marvel Legends Action Figure PackagedThis 6” Cap action figure was quite nice when it came out almost a half decade ago, but I think Hasbro has released superior Caps since in the Secret Wars and Marvel v Capcom lineups. I’m not sure there was much clamor for him to make a comeback—especially at a new $39.99 MSRP.

Marvel Legends 20th Anniversary Captain America Figure and Accessories
The Steve Rogers head and shield with effects pieces are still highlights, and the cardboard backdrop is novel, but it’s hard to feel enthusiastic about a reissue of a figure with outdated pinned joints at the newly inflated $40 price-point.

Spider-Man Retro Marvel Legends Kingpin Figure Packaged

Meanwhile, Retro Kingpin returns again (again). We’ve seen this Wilson Fisk straight up reissued and even repainted several times now, but he’s an evergreen villain that’s always in demand, so I don’t mind seeing him replenished once more (especially for those still needing a spare body for the Shadow King head packed with Hoverchair Professor X).

85th Anniversary Marvel Legends Wolverine Packaged in Box ReviewFinally, we’ve got the return of Astonishing X-Men Wolverine from summer 2024. I essentially raved about this figure as Hasbro’s best Wolverine ever when I reviewed it last year, and my positive feelings about it have not changed.

2024 Marvel Legends Wolverine Astonishing X-Men Figure Joss Whedon CostumeThis is an outstanding action figure of Logan, and I one that feels totally reasonable to restock while Astonishing Beast is on shelves. Astonishing X-Men Colossus and Kitty Pryde figures feel inevitable at this point, so absolutely snap up this Wolverine this time if you missed him and are planning to build the team.

Marvel Legends Reissues Retro Kingpin 20th Captain America Cable Astonishing Wolverine

All four of these Marvel Legends reissues are up for pre-order now online and are arriving this winter. They’re Fan Channel exclusive replenishments, so no Amazon, Target or Walmart this time.

What do you think of this quartet of characters Hasbro chose to rerelease here, Marvel collectors? Are you picking any of these up, and are there any other figures from the past half-decade you’d like another crack at?
