Peter David’s “Smart Hulk” (or “Merged Hulk”) was the Hulk for a generations of youngsters (Like me) growing up in the 90s. The Marvel vs Capcom video games and The Infinity Gauntlet comics are just two of the touchstones that good ol’ “Professor Hulk” was present in. As such, this iteration of Hulk has remained popular over the years, despite Hulk changing versions many times since. And now, Hasbro is ready to unleash a new modern 6” figure to commemorate the fan favorite: the 2026 Marvel Legends Smart Hulk is now up for order!

The removable glasses, ammo clips and angry heads are also fantastic inclusions. The only thing really missing here is a big honking gun to complete the scene, as the gun included here is much too small to do so.
The Smart Hulk figure itself looks great to me, although it doesn’t quite manage to fit the look for either MvC (which needs no shirt and the red pants to be tattered). I imagine that look can be kitbashed mixing pieces from this Hulk and Maximum Hulk, but I don’t mind waiting for Hasbro to just release the GamerVerse Hulk figure that so many are awaiting.
I think the design here looks excellent and very accurate to the 90s Peter David era, with both portraits on-point and the bunny slippers hysterical. I’m not sure any Marvel Legends figure ever has cone with a gun large enough to fit the moment, so I’m going to have to hunt around a bit for that. Even so, this is easily my favorite Hasbro Hulk in quite some time.
Marvel Legends Smart Hulk is now up for order and expected to arrive in the summer, and is available to reserve from online retailers now. The Professor won’t be teaching locally at Target or Walmart, though, so snap him up online if you want him.
Is Merged/Smart/Professor Hulk one of your favorite versions of the character, Marvel collectors? Will you be picking up this new Hasbro release, and what other Hulks (if any) would you like to see Hasbro update?
