We interrupt all of this news about Avengers: Age of Ultron, Hot Toys, Funko and Marvel Legends to talk about what you all really want to hear about: a new Marvel Super Hero Mashers figure has now been released! We’ve been primarily getting Spider-Man villains in the line up until now, but it’s time for Mashers Iron Man to get a nemesis of his own: the Marvel Mashers Iron Monger figure has now been released online and in some stores! And hey, he’s really not that bad…

Hasbro has done great things with Marvel Super Hero Mashers in 2014 (as bizarre as that may sound). Within one year of the line’s inception, we’re getting character depth it took the Marvel Legends and Marvel Universe lines years and years to reach (including characters like Pyro who never got a Marvel Universe figure at all).

I admit to drinking the Marvel Super Hero Mashers Kool-Aid (it was called Mashers Deadpool), and I really think Hasbro has made a terrific kid-focused line with their broad selection of Marvel Mashers action figures.

And now the Mashers universe is getting a little deeper, as villains from the Iron Man comics and movies are arriving! First up is this Marvel Super Hero Mashers Iron Monger figure, who comes in a two-pack with a classic comic book-styled Iron Man figure.

We’ve had Iron Man Mashers released before, but this particular Iron Man figure looks very classic, and I think it may end up being fairly popular with adult collectors who don’t just turn their noses up at Marvel Mashers as a rule.

While it took over a decade to get a Marvel Legends Iron Monger figure, we’re getting this Iron Monger Mashers figure in year one of Marvel Mashers. Thanks, Hasbro! The Marvel Superhero Mashers Iron Monger figure is outfitted in his classic blue armor from the comics, which I largely prefer to his movie appearance.

The shiny blue paint Hasbro selected for the Marvel Mashers Iron Monger figure looks outstanding, and the stylized look and proportions of the Mashers line make Iron Monger look super cool. Iron Monger is definitely one of the standouts from this first year of Marvel Mashers figures.

The Marvel Mashers Iron Man vs. Iron Monger figures set is now available for order online with free shipping, and is also starting to turn up in stores. So far, I’ve only spotted this two-pack at Target, but Toys R Us and Walmart are also “all-in” for Mashers, so I’d expect to see the pack show up there soon as well.
