Back in August, a lot of Marvel Select collectors were outraged when an all-new, Disney Store Exclusive Marvel Select Electro figure was released… in a $50 two-pack with a generic Marvel Select Spider-Man figure. Diamond Select Toys couldn’t confirm at the time whether or not we’d ever seen a single-carded Electro Marvel Select figure hit store shelves, but seeing as every Disney Store Marvel Select exclusive ever has been released individually at one time or another, I had faith that we would. And for those who waited, your patience has paid off–the 7″ Marvel Select Electro figure is now available for order all by his lonesome!
At that point, the writing was on the wall that Disney believed that everyone who was going to fork out to get the exclusive Electro 7″ action figure as part of a two-pack had done so. And sure enough, within 48 hours of the two-pack going on clearance, a previously-unannounced single-carded Marvel Select Electro action figure went up for sale on the Disney Store!
For those wondering, this is the exact same Electro figure as the one that was released in Fall 2014, and it even comes with the same Power Rod display base. Literally, the only difference between this figure and the first release is the awesome packaging that comes with this Electro figure.
It’s possible that this Electro Marvel Select exclusive figure will be released at mass retail in the distant future, but that’s entirely at the Disney Store’s discretion, and may never happen at all (Marvel Select Agent Venom has never been reissued outside of the Disney Store, though he was released several years ago).
The single-carded Marvel Select Electro figure is now available for order for $24.95 on the Disney Store online site, although the two-pack version with an extra Spider-Man figure is also still available for a mere $5 more. If you want the two-pack, though, I’d advise getting it soon–at 40% off, it is not going to last for very much longer.
Now that he’s available sans Spider-Man, will you be adding this exclusive Marvel Select Electro action figure to your collections, Marvel collectors?
