Mezco Toyz generally does not go band and re-release their long sold out Marvel ONE:12 Collective figures, but sometimes demand is so great for certain characters that exceptions must be made. Such is the case with this week’s reissue, a character so pivotal and desirable this year that Mezco just had to bring him back: the Mezco Doctor Doom ONE:12 Collective figure is up for order again at last!
I was taking a sabbatical from collecting the Mezco Toyz ONE:12 Collective series figures when they shipped out Doctor Doom in 2024, so I missed out on pre-orders for Latveria’s iconic monarch.
And when I glanced recently and saw ONE:12 Collective Doom selling on eBay and elsewhere on the aftermarket for 300 to 500 bucks, I was quite certain this was a high-end figure I was going to have to live without.
But with Doom mania running wild as fans anticipate his featured role in Avengers Doomsday later this year, Mezco has taken pity on fans who missed the first run and decided to bring the hotly-demanded mega-villain back for an encore performance!
This month’s awesome Nightcrawler was the first new Mezco action figure that I pre-ordered in years, but I did poke my head in to check out Mezco’s other recent Marvel releases, including this Dr. Doom. I heard Doom was among the best figures in the whole line, but I wasn’t eager to drop double or triple his original price in order to own one.
Luckily for me, Mezco already had designs on bringing the sovereign ruler of Latveria to the waiting arms of more collectors! After announcing Doom’s re-release just yesterday, he’s up for grabs today.
Now, the 180 bucks it costs to pre-order this despot is absolutely no joke, but it 1) is vastly cheaper than the secondary market prices for the original release and 2) includes a relatively insane number of accessories and features to make that price-point more palatable.
I’ll run down the whole bullet point lost in just a second, but here’s an abridged summary of the highlights: 2 heads, 3 masks, 17 hands, soft goods wired cape with hood, rocket thrusters, blast effects, spell book, pouches, holster, removable belts, blaster gun weapon, base with posing pole, light up harness and more (no, really, there’s more somehow).
Frankly, this is a wacky number of accessories for a 1:12 figure to include, encompassing just about anything you’d ever want for the character. I really appreciate the hands that have electrical effects permanently attached, as I don’t have a lot of patience for effects pieces falling off in my grumpy old age.
I don’t count the armor itself as an accessory (what with it being the figure and all), but it’s 28 points of articulation and real metal integrated components are impressive selling points. All of the soft goods look gloriously tailored too—incomparably beautiful compared to the occasional Hasbro soft goods we get (as you would hope at this price).
Here’s that aforementioned complete list (lovingly copied and pasted) as promised:

I don’t particularly want to ever spent $180 on a 6” action figure, but Mezco Toyz is really delivering some gorgeous stuff here. It’s no wonder this figure sold for double or more its original price on the aftermarket.
The Mezco ONE:12 Collective Doctor Doom is up for pre-order right now and estimated to arrive in the fall. I think Mezco is being genius to take orders now while hype is building, then deliver once Doomsday is hitting movie theaters. I won’t be surprised at all if this sells out at the pre-order stage with demand outstripping the quantity Mezco Toyz can make, honestly.
Who among you had the first print of this Dr. Doom ONE:12 Collective figure, Marvel collectors? Did any of you let that release slip through your grasp, but plan to obtain the rerun now?
