Hasbro struck gold last week with a quartet of reissues of previous best-selling Marvel Legends figures plus one minor updated release, so this week they’re looking to double their fun with another reissue quartet and a two-pack of repaints! Up for order this week from Hasbro, it’s repainted GamerVerse Sentinels and re-releases of Marvel Legends Giant-Man & Wasp, Power Princess, Warbird and Obsidian Silver Surfer!

That said, I think that we’re actually getting better picks this week than last, with more collectors likely to be excited to place orders for figures they couldn’t get the first time around. Let’s take a look…
I don’t think that there’s much doubt that the big “headliner” (so to speak) of this week’s pre-orders is a much-demanded reprint of Power Princess from the Marvel Legends Void Series. The sole female member of the Squadron Supreme, power Princess was popular for 3 big reasons: 1) completing her team; 2) completing the Void Build-A-Figure and 3) collectors wanting her as a Wonder Woman figure.
I reviewed Power Princess last year and absolutely loved the figure, and I think it still stands up today as one of 2024’s best releases. Definitely one of the best options Hasbro could have picked for a reissue slot.
In a bit of a surprise move, the 2024 Classic Giant-Man and the Wasp Marvel Legends two-pack is also making a comeback. This sold out like lightning as a Hasbro Pulse exclusive the first time around, and then went so long without a peep from Hasbro that I thought they weren’t interested in making more.
Comic-styled Wasp is not a character that Hasbro makes toys of very often at all, so many fans (and customized) will be happy to see Janet back in circulation. The 6” Hank Pym in this pack is nice too, but I’m definitely partial to only having humongous Giant-Men on display personally.
The other two re-releases are also items that were exclusives pre piously: Obsidian Silver Surfer (originally only at Walgreens in the US) and Warbird (Target’s exclusive in US stores). This iteration of Silver Surfer is from the modern classic “Thanos Wins” story arc by Donny Cates, one of my favorite Thanos tales ever written.
It feels kind of weird seeing a Surfer restock literally weeks before a different Silver Surfer hits shelves (in Mini Comics Wave 2), but I appreciate the unique colorway of Obsidian Surfer and the inclusion of Mjolnir. I’m not sure this was a necessary re-release at this moment in time, but it’s not a terrible one either.
Finally, Target’s Warbird Carol Danvers will enjoy a wider release as well. Hasbro introduced a lot of new female tooling with this ML Warbird figure, which made her a hot commodity when she hit Target. This mold has gotten used a few times since, but for folks who particularly like Carol’s post-Ms. Marvel look, this remains a solid pickup.
I didn’t review Warbird the first time around, but I think she’s a good release overall. A strong likeness and an up-to-date body. A second head is included, along with extra hands and energy effects. I think it will be quite some time before Hasbro updates/improves this version of Carol Danvers (if they do at all).
Rounding out this week’s pre-orders, the sole item that’s “new” is the X-Men GamerVerse Sentinels (Variants) two-pack. These are the same X-Mem Arcade Game Sentinel figures we got last year, except now in wacky color schemes instead of the normal purple.
The red/blue and purple/green Sentinels feel really silly and whimsical, but there’s no denying that they’re actual canon to the arcade game.
These are the sort of niche figures that I think of as “fun” flavor for a shelf, but far from being essential purchases for most fans.
At 58 bucks for a two pack, the Variant Sentinels are a likely skip for me, X-Men logo or not. As pretty basic repaints, I think Hasbro won’t be fretting too much about the sales of these army-builders, though. I’ll be curious to see if these sell out in short order or last a while on the Hasbro Pulse site, which they’re exclusive to.
The four re-releases are up for order right now via Fan Channels such as EE, while the GamerVerse Sentinels remain a Pulse exclusive. Are any of you planning to take advantage of these restocks while they’re available, Marvel collectors?
