There are certain things I never thought I’d live to see, and a super-deformed vinyl figure of former Marvel Comics president Stan Lee is certainly somewhere on that list. Or at least it was. Thanks to ConventionExclusive.com and the Funko POP! Vinyls that they’re sponsoring, I can now cross that particular item off my list…

It’s been quite a year for Stan “The Man” Lee. First Stan Lee got his own Stan Lee Signature Cologne For Men released earlier this year (no, really, I’m not lying–Stan Lee cologne is a real thing you can buy–check it out) and now he’s getting his own series of five Funko POP! Vinyl figure exclusives, with the first figure in the series due out this fall!

The first figure in the Stan Lee Funko POP! Vinyls series will be released at the 2013 New York Comic Con (you can pick it up at Booth 1274–the ConventionExclusive.com booth), with four additional figures scheduled to be released at other conventions in 2013-2014. Presumably San Diego Comic Con 2014 will have its own Stan Lee figure, but as of now the conventions that will have the rest of the Stan Lee POP! Vinyls have not been announced.

It’s worth noting that Stan Lee is not considered to be part of the Marvel POP Vinyls collection, and is part of his own individual series instead. Thus, you can skip the Stan Lee vinyls and still feel that your Marvel vinyls collection is complete, if you so choose.

The NYCC 2013 Funko Stan Lee POP Vinyl figure is limited to 1000 pieces produced, and will be available exclusively at New York Comic Con 2013 in October. While even I’m not a big enough geek to wear the Stan Lee Signature Colone, I will be sure to pick a Stan Lee Funko figure up for review when I attend NYCC next month.
