While Hasbro may not have brought quite as many new Marvel Legends reveals with them to this year’s San Diego Comic-Con 2018, they still had a real treasure trove to share with–including quite a few store exclusives! Whether you’re an X-Men fan, an army-builder or an MCU movie-only fan, your time is now: the Marvel Legends Archangel, AIM Troopers Two-Pack and 10th Anniversary Ultron are all up for order now!
But that’s not to say that Hasbro didn’t bring the goods to their Marvel panel as far as surprise exclusive announcements go: they brought along three new exclusives that I doubt anybody was expecting (other than those folks who happened to see that leaked Gamestop receipt from this week, anyway)!
First up– the totally unexpected refreshed and improved versions of Marvel Legends Archangel is now up for order! The Marvel Legends Archangel figure from a few years back regularly sells for $100+ on the aftermarket and was next to impossible to find when it was freshly available at retail, so Hasbro is doing us a real solid by making one of the most-desired X-Men Legends figures available to us once again at a decent price!
This time out, Warren has shinier metallic-looking wings, THREE heads (including a Death Mask head!), and even an add-on Apocalypse claw to add to the Apocalypse Build-A-Figure! You’ve outdone yourselves with this one, Hasbro!!
Next, looks like our Hydra Trooper armies are going to have plenty of enemies to team up with or battle against, as there’s now a Marvel Legends AIM Troopers two-pack up for order!
The set includes one AIM Scientist, one AIM Shock Trooper, and a ton of parts for customization and army-building. Personally I would have preferred straight packs of two AIM Scientists together, but I’m not gonna look another crack at army-building AIM Soldiers in the mouth. And if that Hydra Soldiers two-pack from last year is any indication, this is gonna be one hot-selling set!
Rounding out the EE Exclusive Marvel Legends figures for the year, the 10 Years of Marvel Studios Ultron movie figure is also up for order!
For those who missed out on the Ultron Build-A-Figure because they didn’t want to buy that whole Ant-Man Marvel Legends Wave in 2015, looks like extreme patience has paid off! Ultron is now packaged all alone and with a superior paint job to the original. I bought and reviewed that Ultron BAF when it was released, but I’ll be buying him again in the “Marvel Stud10s” series because he just looks that much better now.
What do you think of this trio of exclusives, Marvel collectors? Will *YOU* be buying any or all of these releases (and for that AIM Troopers two-pack… how many?!)
Missed opportunity for a quicksilver to go with Ultron?
Looks like comic book Quicksilver coming next year? =/
Boog Nasty did an interview with the Hasbro brand team today, and Ryan said that they plan to continue going back and doing characters from the MCU that got overlooked the first time around, and to “stay tuned” for future announcements.
I am guessing that Hasbro wasn’t allowed to make a movie Quicksilver because of the whole petty Marvel vs. Fox thing Perlmutter was doing at the time (they probably didn’t want to promote a character who was also appearing in the X-Men movies), but now that Disney is buying Fox, that should be cleared up.
Really too bad they’re not both beekeepers, but still glad to have a AIM set.
Love the archangel, the color s heme is not what I expected, the red is supposed to be an almost purple lush color, but either way I’ll get it, I was able to snag 3 of the first release.
Isn’t that four heads? Just sayin’.
It is in fact, four heads. In my old age, I have the lost capacity to count… to four. *facepalm*
Those two extra blue heads look more like Adam Warlock heads transforming into Magus. Could that be what the heads are for???
Up for order? Or pre-order?
Pre-orders are orders? They’re not in-stock and shipping yet, if that’s what you’re asking.
Pretty Meh on the reveals asides from that VHTF & overpriced ArchAngel. What part of “Army building” does Hasbro not get? It means the same character, not 2 different looking ones. Guess they’re saving more reveals for NYCC in Oct.
I believe the Hasbro Panel Booth DID actually show off the Days of Future Past Sentinel and Wolverine set as I saw some photos of the boxed set on another website’s coverage of the Panel. I’m not sure any information was given regarding a release date or anything else however.
AIM Scientist. Cool! I’ll buy a couple more of those.
AIM Shock Trooper. ….who? I’m pretty sure those don’t exist.
Hasbro has released the official photos for the ML Days of Future Past set and according to what I’ve read it will be a Target exclusive.
I just preordered that Ultron figure, because I HAVE been waiting since the beginning of time to purchase that without buying all the other figures in that BAF series or paying the ridiculous prices everyone likes to charge on eBay
Will Ultron still be in that lightweight plastic this time around? It felt so weak in the BAF.
actually they showed the sentinel boxset after the panel
The Wolverine Sentinel DOFP set is a Target Exclusive.
Just pre-ordered all three. The metallic wings will go nicely with the Hit Monkey Archangel with the magenta metallic paint. I was very fortunate to pick up the Hit Monkey Archangel at list when they sold MLs at Disney stores.
I just read an article w/ pics, and the big news for me is we’re finally getting a BAF Kingpin!!!
Disappointed to see Kingpin is comic version and BAF. Would have preferred Netflix DD Kingpin. If comic version then not BAF. I have Toybiz version and only slight improvement here.
They could still do a single carded Netflix Kingpin in the future… The Netflix joint is smaller than comic based Fisk anyway… Besides, how could you not love that BAF!! Here’s to hoping one of the classic figures in that wave is the Vulture!!!
It could be a drastic improvement if the articulation has a decent range. I have the two variants from Toybiz which are decent but I could see room for improvement. This sculpt looks much better. One other benefit of this new version is two heads for the multiple expressions. I would say Netflix Kingpin would be a better single card than the comic version as well.
So is Archangel’s head based on his animated look? The rings around the eyes weren’t from the comics, correct?
Kingpin? Where’s that? Are things being posted on another site and not here? I guess I better go hunting elsewhere for more news about this stuff.
