If anyone asked me how many Spider-Man figures I’ve bought in my life, I would have to estimate a random triple digit number. So it’s really significant when a new Spidey drops and I immediately elevate it to one of my all-time favorites. To my surprise, Bandai has just launched such a figure: the SH Figuarts Spider-Man GamerVerse figure (based on the Marvel vs Capcom video games series) is now up for order! This Spidey definitely ain’t cheap, but he sure does look amazing…
Hasbro has been delivering in a big way this year with Marvel vs Capcom themed figures I’ve been waiting decades for like Gargantos (Shuma Gorath) and blue Venom. But one of the things Hasbro hasn’t delivered on is a Capcom-designed Spider-Man.
Luckily, Bandai is coming to the rescue again with the second item in their S.H. Figuarts Marvel vs. Capcom GamerVerse Series!
Anyone who’s ever played one of the Capcom Marvel fighting games will instantly recognize this video game design for Spidey. Spider-Man has had countless looks over the years, but I daresay that the MvC one is an iconic representation.
Up until now, the closest we’ve come to a truly accurate Spidey from the Capcom games is the resin 1/10 statue that PCS Collectibles shipped out earlier this year. But a statue is not an ultra-articulated action figure, and Bandai has absolutely nailed the latter.
Whether you want your Spidey in a deep crouch, leaping, web-shooting, holding up a web shield or doing an uppercut, this Figuarts Spider-Man video game figure can do it all—and look absolutely authentic while doing so.
Fists, crawling hands, web shooting hands and open hands are all present to recreate the most important poses from the game.
Spidey comes with a web line for swinging, a web shield for defending, a Spider-Sense effect attachment for keeping Peter safe and even an Ultimate Web Throw backdrop to represent Spidey’s best known hyper combo from the games.
Bandai opted for a bright blue and red color scheme, which is notably brighter than what were used to seeing from Hasbro Spider-Man palettes. The colorway looks immediately recognizable to me, and really seals the deal for the extreme amount of happiness this action figure brings me. Love it!
What I don’t love is the sizable price-tag on this guy, however. Like SH Figuarts Cyclops before him, Spider-Man is sporting a wild $99.99 MSRP. That price primarily has to do with licensing reasons in the US, but it’s still very intimidating, even for a “premium” import figure. I think price will be a big barrier to this lineup expanding beyond the heaviest-hitters from the game, so I’m glad Hasbro is filling in many of the secondary characters like Psylocke, Thanos, Omega Red and Shuma Gorath in the same scale.
The GamerVerse Spider-Man SH Figuarts figure is now up for order and is scheduled to arrive in spring 2026. Like all Marvel Figuarts, this will only be available from online and specialty stores and not Target/Walmart.
How do you feel about this second entry in the Marvel vs Capcom Figuarts series, Marvel collectors? Does this GamerVerse Spidey warrant his very hefty MSRP, and will you consider him or any of the other Figuarts characters from MvC for your own collection?
