There are some days I see something so impressive that it makes me feel kind of sad that I don’t have unlimited space (and cash) with which to collect every huge, extravagant collectible that catches my fancy. Now, being a gigantic Legendary Scale Figure doesn’t necessarily make a statue amazing–the Wolverine Legendary Scale Statue due out this fall is proof of that–but the Legendary Scale Doctor Doom is absolutely magnificent.

Dark secret time: I really like the 2005-2007 Fantastic Four movies. Oh, I know that they’re quite awful, but I just love the Fantastic Four so much that I’m still able to derive some enjoyment from those movies. The relevance of that, of course, is that I even like that terrible, bastardized version of Doctor Doom depicted in those movies–so you can imagine how I feel about this exquisite four-foot-plus Legendary Scale Doctor Doom figure statue by Sideshow Collectibles!

At this large scale, Sideshow Collectibles has been able to capture the intricate details of Dr. Doom’s armor like no Doctor Doom collectible ever before has. With the metal clasps and chain, soft goods robes and cape, and ornate details of his battle armor, this is seriously among the most beautiful statues that I think Sideshow Collectibles has ever created.

Doctor Doom comes with two different metal masks: a modern Dr. Doom mask and a classic Doctor Doom mask–and of course, you can choose to display Doom unmasked with his not-entirely-hideous scarred face as well! I don’t know that I would ever display a $2000 Doctor Doom figure with his ugly unmasked mug showing, but it’s nice to have the option.

Even the gothic, stone base that the Sideshow Collectibles Doctor Doom Legendary Scale Figure statue stands upon is grandiose and hyper-detailed. There’s no denying that this is one of the most incredible Marvel collection pieces ever available for sale.
