One Marvel toy line that doesn’t get a lot of headlines here on Marvel Toy News is the Marvel Titan Hero figures. That’s for a couple of reasons, but primarily because the Hasbro Titan Heroes are aimed purely at children and I tend to dabble more in the collector-oriented, middle-to-high-end collectibles. That said, Hasbro has gotten my attention with their latest Ultimate Spider-Man Titan Hero figures released, because they made some very interesting character choices for a change–including the Miles Morales Ultimate Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099!
I am never going to be a collector of the 12″ Marvel Titan Heroes action figures by Hasbro, but sometimes I do waver for a few moments of contemplate picking up a figure or two–or in this case, three! Though they’d previously been shown at the New York Toy Fair 2014, I wasn’t sure exactly when (or if) the new assortment of Titan Hero Ultimate Spider-Man figures was going to hit stores.
That question has been answered first-hand, however: the new Titan Hero Spider-Man 2099, Titan Hero Iron Spider-Man and Titan Hero Ultimate Spider-Man Miles Morales 12″ figures are all now released in stores!
The figures are all packing the standard Hasbro Titan Hero 12″ figure five points of articulation and have minimal paint deco, but I was a mite impressed by the character-specific artwork on the front of each box–that’s better than we’re getting for the “collector”-oriented Marvel Infinite Series and Marvel Legends 2014 figures!
The back of each box also features a little bio about each character, which may actually be useful for those not familiar with these more obscure iterations of Spider-Man.
I didn’t pick any of the new Titan Hero figures up, but I am definitely tempted to grab me a Miles Morales Spider-Man while I’ve got the opportunity. Toys R Us has the new Titan Hero Ultimate Spider-Man figures priced at $9.99 each, and had plenty of all four figures in-stock.
Thoughts on the newly-expanded Titan Hero Spider-Man figure series, Marvel collectors? Does the interesting character selection in this series garner a bit of your interest, or is this child-aimed toy line just too “kiddie” for you?
On that bio found on the back of the box, Spider-Man 2099’s alter ego is given as “Miguel O’Shea”!
That’s a sign of how bad these figures are.
