After the previously-released Marvel 1/4 NECA Avengers figures such as Iron Man, Captain America, a Thor: The Dark World Thor, quarter-scale figure collectors have been waiting patiently for the long-rumored Hulk figure to join his Avengers brethren. At last month’s New York Toy Fair 2014, Hasbro made a ton of upcoming products official that many collectors already knew to be in the pipeline from leaked retailer lists, including the Marvel Infinite Series 2 lineup of action figures! While we already knew they were coming before the 2014 Toy Fair, we got to see them for the first time last month.

In the aftermath of Figma officially opening orders for their exquisite (albeit excessively expensive) Avengers Figma Iron Man Mark VII figure, Kaiyodo has decided to cash in on all of the interest in the Mark VII Iron Man as well! Though it was first released in early 2013 to mixed reviews and took quite a while to sell through, the Avengers Revoltech Iron Man Mark VII figure will be reissued and flying back to stores in summer 2014! I do my best to plan my collecting budget for the year around the estimated release dates that Hot Toys gives us for their various Marvel 1/6 figures, as those tend to be the most expensive figures I buy each year. But, well–sometimes you need to be flexible, and this is apparently going to be one of those times! Considering the Iron Man Mark VII armor is featured in the most popular and top-grossing superhero movie of all-time (The Avengers), you’d think our shelves would be overflowing with a ton of great scaled 6″ Marvel Legends Iron Man Mark VII figures. Instead, we have zero. For whatever reason, Hasbro has never prioritized making a Mark VII Iron Man Marvel Legends-scaled figure, leaving a gaping hole in many collectors’ lineups. Bowen Designs Marvel statue collectors are sort of going through a dark time right now. Almost every item that has been solicited has shipped now, and Bowen Designs has not yet announced a new contract being signed with Marvel to produce Marvel Bowen statues in 2014 and beyond. Well that was fast, now wasn’t it? Over the weekend the first painted prototype images of the Figma Avengers Thor 6″ Figure surfaced from a Japanese magazine. Good Smile Company (the distributor of Figma figures) has now released hi-res images of the 6″ Figma Thor action figure, and pre-orders for the Figma Thor are now available!

Seeing as how the first wave of Hasbro Marvel Infinite Series 3 3/4″ action figures are almost ready to ship out and up till now we’d heard zippo from Hasbro about Wave 2, it didn’t take a zen master of collecting to know that the 2014 Marvel Universe Infinite Series 2 figures would be debuting at New York Toy Fair 2014 this weekend.

Considering that we had seen at least the untainted prototypes of five of the six Kotobukiya Avengers ArtFX+ statues at NYCC 2013 in October, I had an expectation of seeing the whole lineup at New York Toy Fair 2014 this weekend.
I was not disappointed–the Avengers Kotobukiya Iron Man ArtFX+ statue has been revealed, and he brought the painted Kotobukiya Thor statue along for the ride!

Though I run both a LEGO blog and a Marvel blog, I don’t buy every LEGO Marvel set. With LEGO there are just so many high-priced items each year, and usually they’re better than the Marvel LEGO ones. That said, as soon as I saw the LEGO Marvel Hulk Lab Smash 76018 set, I knew it would be coming home. And sure enough, I walked into the LEGO Store Tuesday, saw LEGO 76018, bought it on sight, and built it immediately. I’ll review the playset portion of this set later, and discuss what everyone really wants to hear about first: the minifigures!
