Secret Invasion is inching closer to premiering on Disney+ each day, and that means Skrull-related tie-in comics and toys are starting to re-emerge as well. A modern Secret Invasion comic book limited series just ended, Hasbro has several Skrull Marvel Legends figures lined up for the fall and Diamond Select Toys just started shipping the subject of today’s review: the Marvel Select Super Skrull figure (with the powers of the Illuminati)! This is a rare character debuting in Marvel Select form prior to Marvel Legends. Is this unique Skrull dynamic enough to earn a spot in your collection? Here’s my review…
Continue Reading →Diamond Select Toys has been on a bit of a hot streak over the last year with their Marvel Select figures series. Not every figure has been a winner (I’m looking at -you-, Miles Morales), but by and large there have been a lot more hits than misses. And this week, I’ll review a few of those hits, starting with the subject of today’s review! The Marvel Select Vision figure is classic as can be—is he a must-have for your classic Avengers lineup?

And now, Hasbro is capturing this awe-inspiring plotline in plastic form: the Marvel Legends Herald of Galactus Thor figure is now available! Do you need your own Herald of Thunder 6” figure? Here’s my review…

Continue Reading →Walgreens has been getting a lot of fan-demanded Marvel Legends exclusives lately, including Quasar, Nova and Baron Zemo. But their most recent release was a bit of a surprise when announced, as it was a character there didn’t seem to be much hype to see redone right away. Even so, the new Walgreens Exclusive Sentry Marvel Legends figure is now in-stock for ordering online! Time for me to do a review with the power of a million exploding suns…
Continue Reading →Diamond Select Toys generally launches only a few more than a dozen new Marvel Select figures each year, but we’ve become quite used to them maximizing that potential and making every release count. This week, two new figures launched with varying degrees of success buzz-wise: the all-new Marvel Select Super Skrull is now up for order, as well as the Disney Exclusive Miles Morales and Spider-Ham!

If there’s one villain that was wronged by the first 19 years of Marvel Legends, it’s Ultron. Toybiz’s long-eared attempt was universally hated, and Hasbro’s first efforts weren’t quite on the ball either. But for this year’s series of Iron Man Marvel Legends, Hasbro finally hit a home run. Ultron quickly sold out through most online retailers, and has been difficult to locate at retail stores. But finally, I had the opportunity to sit down and review my own classic Ultron Marvel Legends Figure!
Continue Reading →It’s been a long 19 months since it first debuted at pre-global pandemic New York Toy Fair 2020, but the most iconic member of the Nova Corps is finally ready to fly in as part of the Diamond Select Toys September 2020 solicitations: the Marvel Gallery Nova PVC statue is now up for order! And Richard Rider won’t be the only new value-priced fan favorite Marvel statue —the Gentle Giant Skottie Young styled Marvel Animated Scarlet Witch statue is also on the way!

We got the “related” Marvel Legends Venom series and Kotobukiya Carnage last year due to the movie’s delay, but Sideshow debuted all-new 1/4 versions of the symbiotes during Sideshow Con 2021 last month. And up first to launch is the new Sideshow Carnage Premium Format Figure! And Cletus Kassidy isn’t coming alone—Sideshow’s newest 1/4 Captain America statue is up for order now as well!

For those looking to scratch a classic Marvel Comics-based itch, there’s an all-new Marvel Legends Tigra Retro figure up for order today! And for those who are especially hyped about the What If? series, you can take your Captain Peggy Carter to the next level by picking up the Deluxe Marvel Legends Hydra Stomper to complement it!
Continue Reading →Hasbro has been hitting fans fast and furiously this year with new additions to their 90s Toybiz vintage packaging-styled Spider-Man Retro Legends series, but today they’re mixing things up with a rare new entry in the Toybiz Marvel Super Heroes-inspired Retro series! He was teased in hi-res form during a live stream a few months back, so he’s not coming out of the blue entirely: the classic-styled Marvel Legends Hercules Retro Series figure is now up for order! If you’ve already got a 6″ Herc, do you need another? Well… I sure do!
Continue Reading →Hasbro took the collecting world off-guard earlier this week, when they announced Hasbro PulseCon 2021 out of nowhere and followed it up with the exclusive Marvel Legends Retro Venom figure. But the surprise level of that reveal was NOTHING compared to the one dropped today! The other relevant 2021 Hasbro PulseCon Exclusive is one that I can’t imagine anyone in the universe could have predicted: Marvel Legends MODOK World Domination Tour set with Nextwave’s… ELVIS MODOK and The Captain figures!?
