After seeing prototypes close to half a year ago, can you not stand to wait one more minute to have a Guardians of the Galaxy Funko Rocket Raccoon POP! Vinyl figure of your very own? Well, now you don’t have to! Although the official release of the Funko Guardians of the Galaxy POP Vinyls isn’t expected to be until the last week of June, you can have a little bit of extra raccoon in your life early, as a Funko Hot Topic Exclusive Rocket Raccoon pre-release edition POP Vinyl is now available!

A couple months back at the 2014 New York Toy Fair, I accidentally saw the meant-to-be-secret Unmasked Star-Lord POP Vinyls variant figure on the back of a Guardians of the Galaxy box at the Funko booth. As I’m pretty familiar with Funko’s practices, I instantly knew that the Funko Unmasked Star Lord was going to end up being an exclusive release–and it turns out I was right. If you’ve been waiting to pre-order, you’re in luck: the Chris Pratt Star-Lord Funko POP! Vinyl figure is now available for order!
Continue Reading →Once companies like Funko and Mattel started laying out their plans for their San Diego Comic Con 2014 exclusives, we knew it was only a matter of time until Hasbro played their cards as well! The past two years Hasbro has revealed their exclusives on the third Wednesday of the month, but they threw us a curveball this year by holding out on us for one extra day. But the wait is at an end, and the exclusives are revealed–and this year, they’re all cosmic! Get excited, Marvel Legends fans–the SDCC 2014 Marvel Legends Thanos Imperative figure set is coming our way this summer!
Continue Reading →Over the course of the last week I’ve given my reviews and impressions of all six basic figures that make up the Hasbro Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy Infinite Series (and you can find all those reviews in the archives). But, of course, there’s one more figure that needs to be discussed–because you have to buy every other figure in the series just to build him!
He needs no introduction, but he will definitely give it anyway–it’s the outstanding Marvel Legends Groot Build-A-Figure!
Continue Reading →Although Funko teased a whole series of Guardians of the Galaxy Mystery Minis vinyl figures last winter, we didn’t get to see a peek at them until the New York Toy Fair 2014–and that was only some concept art in the Funko 2014 catalog marked “Confidential”. Not wanting Funko to bust my head, I couldn’t share that artwork–but today, there’s nothing left to hide! Funko has fully-revealed the set, and the Funko Mystery Minis Guardians of the Galaxy set is now available for order!
Continue Reading →While there’s ample hype for this summer’s Guardians of the Galaxy movie, the most talked-about and most-anticipated figure in the Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel Legends Infinite Series isn’t from the movie at all! In fact, it’s not even a character new to Hasbro Marvel Legends. Instead, it’s the star of the most successful cosmic Marvel comic of the past decade.
The last basic figure in this series left for me to review is the Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy Nova figure!
Continue Reading →I have not exactly been gushing with praise in my reviews of the Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel Legends figures thus far, but lest anyone think that I’m totally unhappy with the series, it’s time to talk about one of the figures in the series that’s good. Really good. And it’s lucky that he’s really good, because we’re going to be seeing a lot of him, as he’s heavy-packed at two-per-case!
Peter Quill, the Prince of Spartax, has arrived–it’s the first-ever 6″ Hasbro Marvel Legends Starlord figure!
Continue Reading →The first three figures I’ve talked about in the Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy Infinite Series have been mostly a mixed bag, and today’s figure will be more of the same. Though she’s been a staple of the Marvel cosmic universe for decades and a key member of teams like the Infinity Watch and the Guardians of the Galaxy, Gamora has never had a major figure release before (Minimates doesn’t count, sorry). But that’s all about to change, and Gamora is (hopefully) about to enter the upper-echelon of recognizable Marvel females! The Marvel Legends Gamora figure is the most high-end Gamora (for now)–unfortunately, it’s rather mediocre…
Continue Reading →I’ve had a Rocket Raccoon image as part of the site header since Marvel Toy News launched, so I haven’t been keeping my affinity for Marvel’s cutest superhero a secret. Me and Rocky (we’re on a first name basis) are pretty tight, so I’ve been looking forward to the Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel Legends Rocket Raccoon movie figure ever since the movie was announced. Unfortunately, Hasbro often doesn’t do smaller characters like Rocket Raccoon justice, and the new Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy Rocket Raccoon is a bit of a dud and continues that trend…
Continue Reading →Just when Marvel Legends fans thought they were safe… he’s back! If there’s one character that Marvel collectors were reasonably certain would not show his armored face as part of the Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel Legends series, it’s Iron Man. But, well… here is. To Hasbro’s credit, they did choose an Iron Man armor that’s strongly linked to the GOTG, however. For better or worse, we’re stuck with Marvel Legends Cosmic Iron Man, so let’s take a look at the final production version of the figure and see if it’s any good…
Continue Reading →I was a Guardians of the Galaxy fan before the Guardians of the Galaxy were cool. Well, actually, I’m not sure that the Guardians of the Galaxy are even “cool” now, but they’re at least poised to become recognizable mainstream superheroes due to this year’s upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Anyway, the point is that I’m a huge Guardians of the Galaxy fanboy. So it is with a ton of excitement and pleasure that I get to show off the first production photos of the actual 6″ Hasbro Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy figures, beginning with Drax the Destroyer!
Continue Reading →After getting off to an extremely slow start (as in “I’ve yet to even see one figure in a physical retail store”), Hasbro is apparently getting ready to give a major push to their 4″ Marvel Infinite Series figures line, the 2014 Marvel Universe successor. Just this past week we got our first glimpse of Marvel Infinite Series Wave 3, and now Marvel Infinite Series Wave 4 is already announced and up for pre-order! Don’t get too excited, though. Hasbro Marvel Infinite Series Wave 4 sounds pretty uninspired–to say the least…
Continue Reading →It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a year, but we’re a scant two months away from San Diego Comic Con 2014, and the march toward the biggest Comic-Con of the year is beginning now in full force! And if there’s one company that knows how to fully exploit collectors at SDCC each year, it’s Funko. This year, Funko will be bringing a soul-crushing 86 exclusives to SDCC 2014, and based on the list of hints Funko has given us, we know at least thirteen of those will be Funko Marvel SDCC 2014 exclusives…
Continue Reading →It’s been a tad slow around here lately, but today we’ve got some news to report from the most bizarre of places: a Chinese auction site! Yes, Taobao, the much-beloved auction site preferred by many sellers with stolen factory products, has uncovered two previously-unannounced possible SDCC 2014 exclusive Hasbro Marvel Universe 2014 Marvel Infinite Series figures: Starfox and Nebula! If your first reaction to those names is “Wait… who?”, read on…
Continue Reading →Despite LEGO’s best efforts, photos leaked out from the 2014 Toy Fair International of all of the Guardians of the Galaxy LEGO Marvel Summer 2014 sets. All of the sets–save one! Perhaps it was because it was the smallest of the sets and most difficult to photograph, or perhaps because folks were less interested in it than the other sets on display. Regardless of the reason, we’ve yet to get a good look at the LEGO Guardians of the Galaxy Starblaster Showdown 76019–until now! And while the set includes just one exclusive minifigure, it’s one many fans will want to army-build…
