Last month, Iron Studios got my attention when they showed off their really neat comic-based Spider-Man and friends on bridge Battle Diorama Series statues. This month, Iron Studios apparently wants more than just my attention–they want my money. And the easiest way to get it out of me is the same as always–with the Guardians of the Galaxy! When the first Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel Legends movie figures came out in 2014, I was just happy to finally own a 6″ Gamora action figure, so I was able to look past its faults easily enough. Three years later, my tastes have matured and I was ready for Hasbro to blow me away with their new GOTG Vol. 2 Gamora Marvel Legends figure. It looks like other collectors were ready for a new version as well, as the 2017 Marvel Legends Gamora is selling for $30+ online right now. At a glance, she’s one of the best-looking MCU figures ever–but does she hold up overall?

Although the kid-friendly, low-priced Marvel Titan Hero Series 12″ figures are not exactly the cup of tea of most adult collectors, the line has continued to prove successful, and Hasbro has really upped their game with recent electronic releases in the series (including last year’s awesome Civil War Falcon). Initially I heard the rumor that pre-orders would open May 8th, but obviously that didn’t pan out. But hey, two days later is better than two months later, right? When Bluefin Distribution created an entirely new giant wall earlier this month to pair with the Bandai Tamashii Nations SH Figuarts Spider-Man Honecoming figure–just so that it could be released in the United States–it really hit home to me that Marvel Figuarts are here to stay in North America. So it’s not a big surprise that as pre-orders for the leader of the Figuarts Guardians of the Galaxy open up overseas, we’re getting them domestically too: SH Figuarts Star-Lord (with purple explosions effects!) is now up for order in the U.S.!

If there was a meter that gauged how much of a Hot Toys fanboy you are, I would have caused it to utterly explode a long time ago. I’ve got at least one of every sixth scale Hot Toys Marvel character that’s been released, and God knows how many Iron Man figures. In short, I am hopelessly addicted. I wanted to lead off with that information because it really gives weight to what I’m about to say.
