When Target stores suddenly started restocking the original 2014 Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy series of figures a couple months ago, I speculated it was because 2017 GOTG Wave 2 wouldn’t be out for a while and Hasbro probably wanted Gamora and Rocket available before the movie hit. With the movie under two weeks away now and no pre-order in sight, that certainly seems to be the case. But one thing that is now in sight is images of all seven figures in this wave packaged…

Of the many Funko Marvel Collector Corps boxes that have shipped since the advent of the series, the single most divisive box among subscribers was the MCC Guardians of the Galaxy box that shipped at the end of 2015. Personally, I loved the scarf and ornaments in that box–but not everyone shared my sentiments. But while that box wasn’t a unanimous hit, I think the latest one might be! While the Spider-Man Homecoming Box is now up for order, let’s have an in-depth review of this month’s outstanding GOTG Vol. 2 Box before we look to the future!
Continue Reading →Bandai Japan announced that they had acquired the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 license a few months back, but I started getting a little fidgety wondering if they were actually going to use it when April arrived and we hadn’t seen a single prototype. But while there’s still no word on what characters will be in the S.H. Figuarts GOTG Vol. 2 lineup, we at least know one figure that is on the way: the SH Figuarts Star-Lord figure has now been revealed!
Continue Reading →We’re officially under one month away from the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 movie hitting theaters–but only one week away from the deadline to order the Funko Marvel Collector Corps GOTG Vol. 2 Box! Funko has been pretty tight-lipped about the contents of this box since it was announced in February, but we got a major hint today. And by “hint”, I mean “complete spoilers for the exclusive POP Vinyl figure included”! It’s a cutie, but I suspect this choice will be a divisive one…

Continue Reading →I posted my reviews of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Marvel Legends Yondu and Star-Lord figures earlier this month, and now it’s time to complete the set with the last movie figure in Wave 1! Drax is arguably the least popular member of the team, and you can get this new Marvel Legends Drax figure for about $17 online right now–but is it worth upgrading if you already own the 6″ Drax figure from the first movie?
Continue Reading →Earlier this week I talked about the high-end life-size eFX Star-Lord Helmet prop replica that very few collectors can (or will) be buying. So today, let’s take a look at a Guardians of the Galaxy movie Star-Lord toy that pretty much all of us can afford–and many of us already have! Hasbro’s 2017 Marvel Legends Star-Lord figure is now available online for below the retail price, and it’s downright perfect–as long as you’re looking at it from the right angle…
Continue Reading →Marvel eFX Collectibles can be a tough line to collect. No, not because they aren’t top-notch–eFX inarguably makes the nicest Marvel prop replica collectibles in the land. The true frustration for eFX collectors is that it oftentimes takes years for prototypes eFX shows off to go up for sale–if they go up for sale at all. Luckily, topic’s subject is for the former case: after literally years of being shown at events, the eFX Star-Lord helmet prop replica is finally up for order!
Continue Reading →Well, it looks like it’s a good thing I didn’t delay too, too long in posting my Kotobukiya New York Toy Fair 2017 photo previews–because the Kotobukiya Star-Lord ARTFX and Spider-Man 2099 ARTFX+ statues are now up for order! Along with the pre-order solicitation comes the official photos, specs and pricing info, so let’s take a look at all the details about these two figures that made their debut at the 2017 Toy Fair last month…
Continue Reading →I started my reviews of the new Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel Legends series several weeks back, but got sidetracked by the news juggernaut that was New York Toy Fair 2017. But now it’s back to reviews! And this time, I’ll be covering a movie character who probably deserved to have a figure for the first movie–but didn’t. Luckily, Hasbro has come a long way in three years. So even though he’s already down to 16 bucks shipped online, the first-ever 6″ Marvel Legends Yondu figure we’re getting this year is way better than the one we would have gotten in 2014…
Continue Reading →This week’s Marvel toy news drought is still going strong, so it’s time for me to pull from my remaining photos stash from last month’s New York Toy Fair 2017! Like most years, Kotobukiya had a 1/6th scale Marvel ARTFX statue on display at Toy Fair 2017. But unlike most years (okay, every year), this time it wasn’t Iron Man-related! Coming later this spring, it’s the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Kotobukiya Star-Lord ARTFX Statue!
Continue Reading →It’s a slow start to the week as far as fresh Marvel toy news to report goes, but that’s okay, because it means I get to dig into my humongous cache of figures needing reviews! Last week I talked about the Marvel Select Groot figure that surpassed all expectations, and this week let’s take a look at the Guardians of the Galaxy team leader. The exclusive Marvel Select Star-Lord figure is now in-stock online–should you order one? Read on…
Continue Reading →UPDATE 3/3/2017: The Disney Store is now taking orders for the Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel Select series of figures as well, and you can use code “SAVEMORE” to take 15%-25% off your orders of $50+ today! They have all four figures in-stock right now–including the Gamora & Rocket Raccoon two-packs, so this is a pretty good deal for those who’ve been waiting for one!
Continue Reading →Yesterday was all about two of the most high-end figures of The Punisher ever (the Hot Toys Netflix Punisher and the Mezco ONE:12 Collective Classic Punisher) going up for sale, but today let’s look at some figures that are smaller, available sooner, and a whole lot cheaper! The 4″ Marvel Legends Shocker & Spider-Man two-pack debuted at New York Toy Fair 2017 last month, and now the Wave 1 GOTG and Doctor Strange Movie Two-Packs are in-stock and up for order!
Continue Reading →Strange store reports started cropping up over the course of the past week of collectors finding the original 2014 Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy Series figures at their local Target stores. Three year old Hasbro figures suddenly hitting stores again nationwide is a pretty bizarre turn of events, so I went to investigate today–and can confirm that fresh cases of the GOTG Marvel Legends 2014 series are indeed being stocked once again…
