With less than 28 days to go in the HasLab Marvel Legends Galactus campaign, the project is currently sitting at 10,404 backers–about 74.3% of the 14,000 minimum–met. In isolation, that’s a fantastically (pardon the pun) encouraging number for the World Devourer. But when you take into consideration that the vast majority of those sales are from the first day and most days since have had less than 100 backers, those numbers are a little worrisome. And that may be why, even though Galactus himself hasn’t been backed yet, Hasbro decided to drop the curtain and reveal the first stretch goal yesterday: the first-ever Marvel Legends Frankie Raye Nova figure!

Last week wasn’t just a good week for new Marvel Legends figures going up for pre-order—Hasbro also announced and revealed a trio of new exclusives that would be coming our way later this year! It’s a pretty eclectic bunch, including a long-demanded Carol Danvers as Binary Marvel Legends figure for Walgreens, a repainted Hand Ninja army-builder for Hasbro Pulse, and even a new-ish and improved Spider-Man Homecoming Vulture movie figure for Target! Let’s take a closer look at this threesome of upcoming store exclusives…
Continue Reading →Even before this year’s first wave of Disney+ Marvel Legends figures began hitting stores a couple months back, supposed retailer data leaks had already jumpstarted rumors that a second Marvel Legends Disney+ wave of figures, composed primarily of characters from the upcoming What If…? animated series, would be on the horizon for later in 2021. Those rumors intensified when Hasbro unveiled a Sylvie figure from Loki last month and couldn’t confirm when or where it would be released. But we don’t have to wait any longer to find out now–the Marvel Legends Watcher Series is now revealed and up for order, including Sylvie, Zombie Captain America, Captain Peggy Carter and more!

While the big Hasbro launch today is unquestionably the anticipated second wave of Marvel Legends Disney+ figures with Sylvie and the What If? Watcher Build-A-Figure, that’s not all Hasbro has ready to fly! For those looking to scratch a classic Marvel Comics-based itch, there’s an all-new Marvel Legends Tigra Retro figure up for order today! And for those who are especially hyped about the What If? series, you can take your Captain Peggy Carter to the next level by picking up the Deluxe Marvel Legends Hydra Stomper to complement it!

So it’s no surprise that Hasbro is back at it again this year with what’s beyond a doubt the most popular other hugely oversized character they could make: the 32” tall Marvel Legends HasLab Galactus figure has now been fully revealed, and the campaign is on to get 14,000+ backers and make this project a reality!
Continue Reading →Hasbro has been hitting fans fast and furiously this year with new additions to their 90s Toybiz vintage packaging-styled Spider-Man Retro Legends series, but today they’re mixing things up with a rare new entry in the Toybiz Marvel Super Heroes-inspired Retro series! He was teased in hi-res form during a live stream a few months back, so he’s not coming out of the blue entirely: the classic-styled Marvel Legends Hercules Retro Series figure is now up for order! If you’ve already got a 6″ Herc, do you need another? Well… I sure do!
Continue Reading →While Hot Toys has been showing off their super nifty (and super expensive) WandaVision sixth scale figures of the white Vision and Scarlet Witch figures this month, not everyone wants to wait another year and spend $500+ for a pair of figures of those characters. And for those fans, Hasbro has their own Marvel Legends WandaVision Scarlet Witch and Vision available now! These (particularly Wanda) seem to be selling out pretty quickly as they come into stock. Is it worth hunting down your own 6” Scarlet Witch figure in her Disney+ costume? Here’s my review…
Continue Reading →Hasbro took the collecting world off-guard earlier this week, when they announced Hasbro PulseCon 2021 out of nowhere and followed it up with the exclusive Marvel Legends Retro Venom figure. But the surprise level of that reveal was NOTHING compared to the one dropped today! The other relevant 2021 Hasbro PulseCon Exclusive is one that I can’t imagine anyone in the universe could have predicted: Marvel Legends MODOK World Domination Tour set with Nextwave’s… ELVIS MODOK and The Captain figures!?
Continue Reading →Earlier today, Hasbro officially announced the return of Hasbro PulseCon for 2021! As Hasbro PulseCon is a virtual convention focused on bringing fans online exclusive figures and web-based panels, it seemed like a no-brainer that we’d be seeing an exclusive Marvel Legends figure (or figures) announced sooner than later. But Hasbro really wasted no time, as just a couple hours after announcing the con itself, the Hasbro PulseCon 2021 Exclusive Marvel Legends Venom Retro Series figure has now been revealed!
Continue Reading →When Hasbro revealed the hotly-anticipated X-Men Age of Apocalypse Marvel Legends Colossus Series last month, fans had to settle for checking out pretty renders of the figures, as the final finished figures weren’t ready to show off just yet. That was fine for many fans who were going to pre-order no matter what–but for those who were waiting to see final hi-res and packaged photos of the figures, the time has now come! Today, Hasbro officially unveiled the final images of the 2021 Marvel Legends X-Men AOA Wave 2 figures!

It’s been nearly a half-decade since Hasbro released their SDCC 2016 Exclusive Sandman (Sand Form) figure and the subsequent Build-A-Figure version, and while both of those were pretty fantastic action figures, they are becoming quite expensive and difficult to hunt down on the aftermarket at this point. But a supervillain as cool and prominent as William Baker will not be denied a spot in newer collectors’ homes: a new Retro Spider-Man Marvel Legends Sandman figure is now up for order! Is this 2021 Sandman a worthy addition to the collections of new and old fans alike?

And so, it wasn’t a completely stunning development today when a GameStop Exclusive Marvel Legends Miles Morales Camouflage figure went up for order. But what did turn out to be pretty unexpected was that this isn’t a repaint at all–it’s an all-new, never-before-seen GamerVerse Miles Morales figure mold! Presumably we’ll get a regular painted iteration of this Miles Morales Spider-Man down the road, but for now, let’s have a look at the pretty clear blue version!
Continue Reading →For decades, the Red Skull was an off-limits character that toy companies would not touch with a 200 foot pole because of fears of controversy due to the character’s political origins. But those days are 2+ decades behind us now, and Red Skull is a bonafide movie star in the MCU with quite a few figures to his name. But somehow, one figure we’ve never gotten is a definitive version of the character in his most iconic classic look—at least, maybe not until now! The Xemnu Series Super Villains Marvel Legends Red Skull figure has arrived—has Hasbro created the perfect classic Red Skull action figure?
Continue Reading →Oftentimes, Hasbro successfully uses a Marvel Legends Build-A-Figure as a proverbial carrot to entice collectors into buying an entire series of figures to build an essential character such as the Kingpin or Sauron. The subject of today’s review… is not one of those characters. The Marvel Legends Super Villains series is bringing us some of the most fan-demanded villains in toy form from across the Marvel Universe, but the BAF is easily the most obscure character in the whole wave. Even so, the Marvel Legends Xemnu Build-A-Figure is still selling for about 80 bucks on the aftermarket. Is this super-articulated niche figure worth those lofty prices?
Continue Reading →Hasbro has been revealing a different X-Men related figure through members of the collecting community each weekday for the past week, and now we know why. The cat (or rather, the Wolverine) is out of the bag: a new Amazon Exclusive Marvel Legends Wolverine box set is now up for order! Cyber and a repainted Omega Red join the previously announced Callisto, Mastermind and Shirtless Wolverine–but is this quintet a must-have…?
