From Jubilee and Boom Boom to Beast and Gambit, Hasbro fulfilled a record number of X-Men collectors’ dreams in 2019. And I’ve got one more left to talk about–of a figure I’ve been wanting for 27 years! The X-Men Arcade Game hit arcades in 1992, featuring five of the most iconic team members ever… and Dazzler! Alison Blaire was my go-to character in that game, and I’ve wanted a good action figure of her in that 80s costume practically all my life. I happily paid full price for her this summer, but the Marvel Legends Vintage Dazzler figure is 10 bucks online today–should you get one?

Hasbro has been doling out fan service like never before to X-Men collectors over the course of 2019, including new versions of some of the most requested characters such as Beast, Jubilee, Dani Moonstar and Professor X. But perhaps the singular most exciting 6” X-Men Legends action figure of the year for most fans was an updated version of the Ragin’ Cajun himself! Hasbro double-packed the new Marvel Legends Gambit so he’d be readily and affordably available to everyone—but is this long-awaited Jim Lee Gambit 90s figure up to snuff?

The bad news this week for much of the United States was that we got blasted with the most major winter storm so far this year and had to dig ourselves out. The good news is that I finally got snow for the first time this year in my neck of the woods (16” of it, to be exact!), which meant that at long last I could take a certain X-Men Legends 6” figure for outdoor review photos! The Marvel Legends Iceman Vintage series figure is already down to 13 bucks shipped just a few months after being released, but is this Bobby Drake figure really all that bad…?

Hasbro is going all-in with the Age of Apocalypse Marvel Legends X-Men 2020 series, which will be composed entirely of AoA versions of characters from the all-time classic comic book storyline. But those planning to dive in and be completists may (or may not) need to pick up one of this year’s already-released figures, who happens to be a key AoA character discounted to 11 bucks today only: Marvel Legends Blink! But is this really the Blink Age of Apocalypse fans have been waiting for…?
