While I talk an awful lot about Hot Toys Marvel figures on this blog (and I’m legitimately somewhat embarrassed about how much I spend on Hot Toys each year), I tend to not review many of the sixth scale figures I buy. why? Well, frankly, it’s almost tedious having to prattle on about toys that are virtually perfection. but seeing as how Sideshow Collectibles’ Black Friday sale has the Hot Toys Heartbreaker Iron Man available for 30% Off and free shipping with code “BF3015” this week, I figure now is a good time to gush about how amazing this figure is….

Ordinarily there’s just about nothing on Earth that could make me happy to rebuy Blu Ray movies that I already own. Of course, ordinarily said Blu Rays don’t come packaged in gorgeous new packaging and with a 1:1 prop replica from one of my favorite movies of all-time (which just so happens to not be set on Earth): the Amazon Exclusive Marvel Phase 2 Collection set with Morag Orb replica is now up for order!
Continue Reading →It took a few years, but the long-delayed Gentle Giant Iron Patriot Quarter-Scale statue finally arrived in collectors’ hands this fall!
But gorgeous as this light-up 1/4 Iron Patriot statue is, it’s also 19″ tall and $400, making it an item many collectors simply can’t afford (in both shelf space and dollars). But wait! If you fall into that category and still want this piece, there’s hope: the Gentle Giant Marvel Collectors Gallery 9″ Iron Patriot Statue is now up for order!
Continue Reading →I’ve been doing an awful lot of talking about Hulk toys this week, so I think maybe it’s time to switch gears and do some Hulk-busting!
The most talked-about and in-demand Hasbro Marvel Legends figure of the year is the Hulkbuster Iron Man Build-A-Figure. You have to buy all seven Marvel Legends Avengers Wave 3 figures to build him, but is the Marvel Legends Hulkbuster Iron Man worth it…? In two words: “Awwwww. Yeah.”

Not only is the Iron Man Mark IX I had written off as never coming on the way–but so is the Pepper Potts figure that’s allegedly been in-development for over two years! The exclusive Hot Toys Pepper Potts & Iron Man Mark 9 set is now up for order!
Continue Reading →Once upon a time, I had a dream that Hot Toys would produce sixth scale figures of all 43 armors that appear in the Iron Man 3 movie. For a while it looked like they might actually pull it off, but sadly, it looks like that dream may be going unfulfilled. Hot Toys has now put their limited 2015 Toy Fair Summer Exclusive Tank Iron Man up for order–and it actually comes with two more new Iron Man armors! But there’s a plot twist even more expected than the Mandarin: while the Hot Toys Tank Iron Man looks outstanding, the Disco Iron Man & Mark 9 are a little, uh… little…
Continue Reading →Finally, the big day is upon us! The day that we’ve all been waiting for for nearly three years–the U.S. release date for the Avengers: Age of Ultron movie! Avengers-mania is in full effect, with mountains of high-end and low-end product wherever you look, and Sideshow Collectibles will be adding one more drop to the flood themselves to celebrate the end of the Phase II MCU: the Sideshow Collectibles War Machine Maquette goes up for order today! But as much as War Machine rocks, he also comes at a heavy price…
Continue Reading →As Star Wars Celebration Anaheim rolls on overseas, things are definitely not all quiet on the Marvel front! Hot on the heels of the Bandai SH Figuarts Avengers Age of Ultron figures going up for order earlier this month, Bandai has opened Asian web-only pre-orders for their next exclusive Marvel figure–and this one is going to be a toughie to acquire! It’s the Asian web-only, limited release SH Figuarts War Machine Mark II figure!

But their latest product reveal has been, well… not exactly a closely-guarded secret. Starting at San Diego Comic Con 2014 and continuing throughout the summer and fall, Hot Toys has been “sneakily” leaving an Iron Man 3 Hot Rod Iron Man Hot Toys figure in the display cases at most of the events that they’ve exhibited at. I guess there was always the slight possibility that this figure was just on display to taunt us with what we cannot have–but no more: The exclusive Hot Toys Hot Rod Iron Man Die-Cast figure is now up for order!

Today, Hot Toys posted a photo of the next Hot Toys products that are about to ship out in Asia, and will be hitting the United States 4-6 weeks after that. The update includes four Marvel Hot Toys sixth scale figures (that are still available for order), some of which we’ve been waiting for for close to a year and a half! Finally arriving in our hands this winter: the Hot Toys Star-Lord, Falcon, Igor Iron Man and Starboost Iron Man!
Continue Reading →It’s been quiet times for Marvel collectors as we approach the end of 2014, but if there’s one collecting genre that pretty much always has new figures coming out to talk about, it’s designer vinyls! But this article isn’t about Funko (believe it or not), it’s about the Marvel vinyl figures being put out by Emperor Mickey Mouse himself–Disney! Coming to the Disney Parks and online in December 2014–the limited-edition Marvel Vinylmation Iron Patriot, War Machine, and Ant-Man vinyl figures!

No, it’s not something as disgustingly romantic as the sunrise (and I haven’t been awake early enough for the sunrise in about a decade). The sight I’m talking about is even more breathtaking–at least, from a hopelessly addicted Marvel collector’s point of view. For I awoke today and immediately set my gaze upon the official announcement of the most orange Iron Man armor ever–the MMS 258 Hot Toys Peacemaker Iron Man Summer 2014 exclusive figure is now up for order!
Continue Reading →All good things must come to an end–and that includes the production runs of some figures in the extensive line of Funko POP! Vinyls figures. While Funko will often keep certain POP Vinyls figures in production for several years, with the crazy number of new characters they’re producing each year, certain figures need to retire–or go out of production–forever. And on this summer’s list of discontinued items, it’s been confirmed that several Marvel POP! Vinyls are going into retirement. Order the retiring Marvel POP Vinyls soon if you’re missing them, because retired Funko POP Vinyls can get very pricey on the aftermarket…
Continue Reading →I love Hot Toys; I love Iron Man 3. Ergo, I typically have no problem whatsoever with Hot Toys milking the Iron Man 3 license and sucking our wallets dry. That said, even I had to furrow my brow today–just a little bit–when Hot Toys announced an all-new Iron Man 3 Hot Toys Hall of Armor House Party Protocol Version diorama! You’ll be able to build your own Iron Man 3-style Hall of Armor, and the price is supposed to be affordable, but, well… the quality of this new House Party Protocol Hall of Armor definitely remains to be seen…
Continue Reading →Last month Hot Toys released a teaser poster, giving us our first look at the Hot Toys 2014 Toy Fairs Exclusive figures–including (as expected) another Iron Man figure from Iron Man 3. I wrote about two-thirds of an article overnight discussing what I thought the exclusive was going to be and why based off of the teaser photo, but then Hot Toys had to go and spoil the whole thing by doing a full reveal the next morning. Get it while it lasts (which won’t be long)–the exclusive Iron Man 3 Hot Toys Python Iron Man Mark XX figure is now up for order!
