It looks like it may turn out to be a pretty light year for Funko Marvel POP! Vinyl collectors as far as 2014 San Diego Comic-Con exclusives go! While last year we had a multitude of SDCC Marvel POP! Vinyl exclusives released by Funko (including Unmasked Iron Patriot & Iron Man, Metallic Red Hulk, Metallic Ghost Rider and Metallic Deadpool), this year it looks like we’ll be enjoying one and only one 2014 SDCC Marvel POP Vinyls exclusive. Luckily, it just so happens to be my very favorite Marvel character: the SDCC 2014 Flocked Rocket Raccoon POP! Vinyl has now been revealed!

Hot Toys announced in July 2013–close to a full year ago–that they had obtained the license to make Guardians of the Galaxy Hot Toys sixth scale figures. So it’s not exactly an unexpected development that Hot Toys has revealed their first photo of the impending Hot Toys Guardians of the Galaxy 1/6 line of Movie Masterpiece Series figures (what with the Guardians of the Galaxy movie hitting theaters in under two months and all). What is a twist, however, is exactly what Hot Toys has unveiled–prototypes for all five members of the Hot Toys Guardians of the Galaxy figures!

Although Funko teased a whole series of Guardians of the Galaxy Mystery Minis vinyl figures last winter, we didn’t get to see a peek at them until the New York Toy Fair 2014–and that was only some concept art in the Funko 2014 catalog marked “Confidential”. Not wanting Funko to bust my head, I couldn’t share that artwork–but today, there’s nothing left to hide! Funko has fully-revealed the set, and the Funko Mystery Minis Guardians of the Galaxy set is now available for order!

I’ve had a Rocket Raccoon image as part of the site header since Marvel Toy News launched, so I haven’t been keeping my affinity for Marvel’s cutest superhero a secret. Me and Rocky (we’re on a first name basis) are pretty tight, so I’ve been looking forward to the Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel Legends Rocket Raccoon movie figure ever since the movie was announced. Unfortunately, Hasbro often doesn’t do smaller characters like Rocket Raccoon justice, and the new Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy Rocket Raccoon is a bit of a dud and continues that trend…

Yesterday the much talked-about Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel Legends 6″ action figures went up for pre-order, and today the case assortment for the series has been revealed! To my chagrin, the Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy figures case ratios are not quite what I was expecting. Though he won’t even be appearing in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, it appears that there will be plenty of Marvel Legends Iron Man figures to keep shelves warm this summer…

Considering what a complete and utter pain it’s been in 2014 to track down any Marvel Legends figures that aren’t characters named “Captain America” or “Spider-Man”, I’ve been half-dreading the eventual release of the Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy figures. But no longer!

Not only has the “official” street date for them been revealed, but all six Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel Legends figures (including Nova and Gamora) are now available individually for pre-order!

While Diamond Select Toys gave press and buyers at the 2014 New York Toy Fair the first look at this summer’s Marvel Minimates Guardians of the Galaxy figures, photography of the Guardians of the Galaxy Minimates (like most GOTG merch) was not allowed at the event. Collectors have had to be content with word-of-mouth textual descriptions of the wave–until now! Diamond Select has now pulled back the curtain, and the complete Guardians of the Galaxy Minimates series is now available for order!

I’ve done way more than my fair share of whining and complaining about the miniscule amount of Marvel New York Comic Con 2013 exclusives, but I’m ready to take it all back now and fall down on my knees, praising Marvel for their kindness and benevolence. Marvel has just announced the list of exclusives that they’ll have on-hand at NYCC 2013 at the Marvel booth, and one of the items is perhaps my favorite exclusive by any company this year: the Marvel Shop 2013 NYCC Exclusive Rocket Raccoon plush toy!
