I was blindsided earlier this week when Kotobukiya announced that they were releasing a Bishoujo Psylocke Classic X-Men Version statue as a SDCC 2014 exclusive. I love Psylocke, so I wasn’t complaining, but I had been absolutely certain that the Kotobukiya SDCC 2014 Bishoujo exclusive would be a variant of the Spider-Woman Bishoujo statue. Regular readers know that I’m pretty outspoken about my dislike of the Kotobukiya Bishoujo Marvel statues. I feel that they’re often posed in such a cheesecake way that they’re embarrassing to look at, much less bring into the house where my wife can see them. With a month and a half to go until San Diego Comic-Con 2014, most companies have unveiled the details on their SDCC 2014 exclusives. Today we can add Diamond Select Toys to that list, as they’ve now revealed their Marvel Minimates exclusive set for SDCC 2014: the X-Men Days of Future Past Minimates box set is now up for pre-order! We’ve had some pretty big reveals over the course of the month as far as this year’s San Diego Comic Con 2014 exclusives go, but now it’s time to step back and talk about some exclusives that a bit smaller–both in size and in hype. Hasbro did a superb job this year of keeping their SDCC 2014 Marvel Legends exclusive set of 6″ figures under wraps until they were ready to grandly unveil it today. Their 3.75″ Marvel Infinite Series SDCC 2014 exclusive set…? Not so much. We’d seen some photos leak from Asia over the last few weeks, and I instantly guessed that we would be getting a Thanos-themed Marvel Universe exclusive set. And, as expected, that’s exactly what we’re getting–but it’s also coming with a really cool wearable, foam Infinity Gauntle! It’s the SDCC 2014 Marvel Infinity Gauntlet figures set!

Once companies like Funko and Mattel started laying out their plans for their San Diego Comic Con 2014 exclusives, we knew it was only a matter of time until Hasbro played their cards as well! The past two years Hasbro has revealed their exclusives on the third Wednesday of the month, but they threw us a curveball this year by holding out on us for one extra day. I might have an obsession. See, once Marvel officially announced the SDCC 2013 Exclusive Funko Metallic Red Hulk POP! Vinyl figure, I became pretty fixated and seeing what they’d do to the most huggable of the Hulks. But the image Disney/Marvel sent out with the press release was just a photo of the plain Red Hulk. Earlier this month, I posted an article about the surprise reveal of a Marvel Funko POP! Tony Stark vinyl figure being released as an exclusive at the Philippine Toy Con 2013, as well as at SDCC 2013.
