While the 2016 Toy Fair International won’t officially begin until this Saturday (2/13/2016), many companies are taking the opportunity this week to preview newly revealed toys in advance of the show.

When Kotobukiya had official photos to show over the weekend alongside the first public look at the painted prototype of their Bishoujo Spider-Gwen statue at Japan’s Winter Wonder Festival 2016, the writing was on the wall that the immensely-anticipated Gwen Stacy staue pre-order was imminent.

Traditionally, LEGO doesn’t allow photography of its licensed summer sets until the New York Toy Fair that takes place in February. But some traditions are made to be broken, and at the Nuremberg Toy Fair 2016, TLG is allowing photography of three out of the four summer 2016 LEGO Marvel sets for the very first time! Marvel Legends collectors were thrown a huge curve-ball yesterday, when the entire Red Onslaught Build-A-Figure wave (which, by the way, is called the “Red Skull” wave on the packaging) popped up for order on Amazon–despite the fact that they hadn’t even listed the Spider-Man Legends Absorbing Man wave yet that started hitting stores weeks ago! I wasn’t in the market for yet another vinyl figure line to collect (seeing as I have a major weakness for them), but I fell in love at first sight with the Funko Marvel Dorbz figures when I first saw them at Toy Fair 2015. Even so, the line got off to a rocky start at retail. A couple of unannounced Marvel Legends 2016 4″ figures turned up on eBay last week, leaving fans wondering whether the figures were legit. Well, we Marvel Universe-scale collectors didn’t have too long to wait to find out: Hasbro has officially confirmed two upcoming new Marvel Legends 3.75″ figures–Black Panther and House of M Spider-Man! But there’s one other bit of news: a troubling potential price increase to $19.99 per figure…
UPDATE: And rejoice–Hasbro has confirmed that the price increase on their site was an error: 4″ figures will remain $12.99 in 2016.

At the time, we only had grainy, low-res images to make our ordering decisions based on.
