Toy Fair 2015: Marvel Legends Spider-Man Wave 2! RHINO!

Hasbro may have left Star Wars collectors out to dry at New York Toy Fair 2015 (with nary a new figure to be found in the land!), but they seriously brought the goods this year for Marvel collectors! Along with the two exclusive Marvel Legends multi-packs that were revealed, Hasbro showed off three full waves of previously unannounced Marvel Legends 2015 figures. And the biggest surprise of them all was the Marvel Legends Spider-Man Wave 2–with Marvel Legends Rhino Build-A-Figure!

I really, truly did not believe that Hasbro was going to give us a full second series of Marvel Legends Spider-Man 2015 Infinite Series figures. In fact, I was leaning against them even giving us a mini “refresh” wave like we got last year. To my delight, I was wrong–which I actually don’t mind at all in this instance, because what I was wrong about turns out to be among the best Marvel Legends lineups ever!

The headliner of this series is a huge, bulky Rhino Marvel Legends Build-A-Figure. I don’t especially care for the masked Rhino look, but Hasbro thought of everything–there’s also a second, alternate head for Rhino with his more recognizable head type! We’ve been needing a new Marvel Legends Rhino figure for a while, and this puts all its predecessors to shame.

Strange but true: this may be the first full Marvel Legends Spider-Man Series ever without a true Peter Parker figure! But if that means that we can get a sensational classic Marvel Legends Scarlet Spider (Ben Reilly) figure like this one, that’s A-OK with me! Ben Reilly is my favorite Spider-Man ever, so this figure is my favorite Marvel Legends 2015 figure overall.

Kraven is a character that I’m never enthusiastic about, but once we have this Marvel Legends 2015 Kraven the Hunter figure, we’ll never need another Kraven figure again. This is the ultimate Kraven action figure that I never knew I needed.

Oh my gosh! It’s Misty friggin’ Knight! Unbelievable!!! After decades in the Marvel Universe and prominent roles in many series, the Marvel Legends Misty Knighty figure will be the first mass-release Misty Knight action figure ever released! Bravo, Hasbro!

…And I guess one non-Caucasian female figure deserves another, because the first-ever mass-release White Tiger figure is also part of Spider-Man Legends Wave 2! With her huge role in the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon series, I think this Marve Legends White Tiger figure will be a strong seller and surprise a lot of folks. But wow–White Tiger! Craziness!

And for the hardcore Marvel comic book fans, we get the Marvel Legends Superior Venom figure and a brand new Marvel Legends Ghost Rider! From two issues of Dan Slott’s legendary run of “Superior Spider-Man” comics, we’ve got this outstanding representation of the Venom symbiote possessing Doc Ock in Peter Parker’s body (you got that?)!

While many might consider this a throwaway character, this Superior Venom action figure looks wicked. Why couldn’t Anti-Venom have looked this good…?

And speaking of “wicked”, the newest (and perhaps best) Ghost Rider Marvel Legends figure ever. Wow–I wouldn’t have minded an “All-New Ghost Rider” figure, but classic Ghost Rider looks pretty dang impressive. This will be another hot figure at retail to be sure.

As there are six figures in this series and cases contain eight figures, we can expect two figures (*cough* Scarlet Spider and Superior Venom *cough*) to be double-packed in the cases.

With seven blockbuster figures in this Peter Parker-free series, I think that Marvel Legends Spider-Man 2015 Wave 2 just may be my favorite Marvel Legends series ever! What say you, Marvel collectors? Are you ‘in’ for any or all of the Marvel Legends Rhino Build-A-Figure Series?

  2. I cancelled my series one order. This series just blows it away. All 616 characters, all amazing sculpts and accessories, and some very strong characters in need of figures.

    With the inclusion of Misty and White Tiger, I am seriously disappointed that there is no Monica Rambaeu Captain Marvel in the Avengers lineups. I have NO right to be, but that is just how good these waves are.

      Hasbro will come through. The release of two women of color in the same wave is proof that they have been listening to us.

  3. Hell yea! All comic figs, this is the most beautiful wave of all of the waves shown, I will def be snatching these up, probably multiples of each.

  6. Wow wow wow rhino baf !! Espectacular !! Me encanta ese rhino creo que supera su version select .. scarlet spidey !! Genial .. white tiger merecia su version legends y lo hace de manera fantastica !! estoy muy emocionado de ver a misty y me parece muy buena figura .. o si .. kraven en una version mucho mas digana que su anterior “fredy mercury” este kraven muestra seriedad fuerza poder una perscensia que impone respeto exelente version de kraven !! Creo que el punto debil es superior venom .. no me quita el sueño pero es una exelente wave de spidey .. y asi como en la wave hobgoblin tubimos un personaje marvel knight daredevil .. en esta wave hay un exelente ghost rider !! Me encanta esta wave !! Exelente !! Si sumaramos dos figuras mas seria tal vez la mejor wave de hasbro .. ideas ? Si ! Tombstone .. misterio .. sandman .. puma .. Shocker .. escorpion .. serie mas que genial

  8. Did anybody noticed that the Chameleon figure that was announced in the panels is missing from the official release?
    And this series is dope, for sure. I’ll be getting a case> But I have the toy biz ghost rider from the riders series and I think is far superior from this one IMO.

  9. Oh, he’s there. You just have to use your Spidey-Senses to figure him out. Notice there is a 2099 in the box… and one loose… that Chameleon is sneaky.

  11. That Kraven looks so badass but I think the only figures I’m gonna pick up from this wave are Superior Venom and Scarlet Spider.

  13. Holy crap, those Ghost Rider and Superior Venom figures?! Amazing! I’m not too crazy about the BAF just being Rhino, so I’ll just make Ghost Rider, Venom, Scarlet Spider (Ben Reilly), and maybe Kraven priorities.

  14. And could someone tell me, how is this Wave 2 of the Spider-Man Legends series if the first was BAF Green Goblin, and now there is the new one on Amazon with BAF Hobgoblin(which should be Wave 2). Shouldn’t this wave be Wave 3?

    • This is one case that I want every figure, so glad they are all comic figs to, I’m really pumped about that white tiger, everything else is icing on the cake. Best wave of the year IMO.

    • Nope! Likely July/August would be my guess, but Hasbro hasn’t announced one yet.

  19. When is this line going to hit the stores? I search religiously and obviously they aren’t there but people are already selling them on ebay.
