I’m leaving for New York Toy Fair 2019 tomorrow morning, but before I can even get out the door, companies are beginning to post previews of new products that will be fully unveiled at the event this weekend! One such company is Diamond Select Toys, who have unveiled a superfecta of new Marvel products in the build-up to the show. All four previews are good ones, but there’s one that’s generating more buzz than any of the others: the Marvel Select Sandman figure is now up for order!
But that number of omissions is set to decrease by at least one this year, as we’ve now gotten our first look at the DST Sandman Select figure that will be fully revealed at the 2019 Toy Fair this weekend!
I’ve already heard a bit of griping that this Sandman figure looks “boring”, but I think that’s because a lot of collectors have only glanced at the one preview image available of DST’s Flint Marko and not ready the actual text for the release.
As it turns out, this figure is going to include a “sand tower” lower body, a sand spiked mace and a sand claw that aren’t shown in the preview image. We’re getting a lot for our $29.99 MSRP, and I’m expecting a plethora of jaws to be dropping once this figure gets fully unveiled this weekend. If the sand on the fist and base are any indication, we are in for a crazy treat with all of those other interchangeable sand accessories!
Here’s the full solicitation information from DST:

The Sandman Marvel Select figure is now up for order, and is scheduled to be released in Q3 2019. We’ve only got these few photos to go on for now, but I anticipate seeing all of Sandman’s accessories and being able to take plenty of hi-res photos of him at New York Toy Fair 2019 this weekend.
Be sure to follow the Marvel Toy News Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages, where I’ll be posting rapid-fire photos of all the new statues and figures from Toy Fair throughout the weekend! Should be a wild weekend!
Are you already sold based off of the preview image, or do you need to see more before you’re ready to fork out your $28-$30 for this Flint Marko, Marvel collectors? And what other Diamond Select Toys items are you hoping to see revealed at the 2019 Toy Fair?
Since you asked…I’m REALLY hoping for a select BISHOP! MORE X-MEN IS MY HOPE
I would love an Apocalypse figure. The Marvel Legends is great; I want a bigger one with interchangeable hands. As for this Sandman, I agree on the boring part. I suppose with extra hands it would be better; we’ll see.
I’m happy with the ML BAF Sandman so I’ll be passing on this guy, but certainly he looks pretty decent and is the more affordable option at this point.
