New York Toy Fair 2026 took place over the weekend, and despite just having a big Marvel fan-stream last week, Hasbro saved a few surprises for the show. The first of which is ready to launch this week, just a couple days after being revealed, and is a version of a character I should have seen coming but did not: the Marvel Legends Aaron Davis Iron Spider figure in black & gold costume is now up for order!
I probably should have foreseen this version coming when I reviewed the awesome Marvel Legends Iron Spider figure back in 2022, but somehow Uncle Aaron’s brief career in the armor just wasn’t on my radar.
This villainous edition of Iron Spider debuted in Spider-Man #234 in 2017, which isn’t exactly a modern classic story arc, but was a fun tale at the time. It led to redemption for Uncle Aaron ultimately, which I think is just swell.
You might think that this is a straight-up repaint of the (admittedly near perfect) 2022 Iron Spider Legends figure, but it’s actually got three differences beyond the paint: a new Aaron Davis unmasked head, a necessary new upper torso piece to be accurate, and a 4th hole on the back to fit the 4th mechanical arm/claw this iteration of the armor had.
All 3 additions were essential ones, so good job Hasbro for forking out the extra bucks to make this release authentic. The armor itself looks slick and sleek in black and gold, even if it’s not the iconic color scheme for the Iron Spider. I think a lot of fans just may prefer this palette swap.
When it launched 4 years ago at $34.99, the prior Iron Spider Marvel Legends figure stunned everyone with its price-point and was the most expensive “regular sized” ML figure ever. For that reason, I’m not shocked or aghast at that same price on Uncle Aaron Iron Spider (though I’d obviously prefer it as cheap as possible like everyone else).
Marvel Legends Iron Spider Aaron Davis is now up for order and ships out this spring. He’s a Fan Channel exclusive, so no Target or Walmart for this sketchy sometimes-criminal. What do you think, Spider-Man fans? Was black and gold Iron Spider on your wish list, and will you order one?
